I got a full door seal set from lrp over winter, plan to install it right away here. My doors are mostly aligned properly, they close fine but the drivers door is sagging a bit, and at the front bottom corner there's a gap from the door moving away from the body. heres a couple pics: So what I'm wondering is if its an alignment issue or if my door is warped somehow? I've owned the van for coming up on 3yrs now and it wasn't like this when I bought it. I figure I should deal with the alignment before installing new seals. Also it uses to have a spring and plastic guard around the latch strike that broke off... how important are those? Please forgive the layer of dirt... it's been a long winter and she just got back running on gas a couple days ago -77 Chevy G10

I found the bottoms of my front doors were also like this (although not quite as bad). Likely from years of being closed and having the seal pushing outward. Remember, the closest hinge is a couple of feet away, only the structure of the door itself is responsible for keeping it's shape. I was able to "tweak" mine back into shape with a few good yanks inward at the bottom of the door while someone was holding it open. | | | Re: Door misaligned or warped? | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 2,964 Likes: 63 veteran | veteran Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 2,964 Likes: 63 | | | | Re: Door misaligned or warped? | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 18,286 Likes: 558 | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 18,286 Likes: 558 | Are the bushings in need of changing ? | | | Re: Door misaligned or warped? | Joined: Mar 2016 Posts: 7 stranger | OP stranger Joined: Mar 2016 Posts: 7 | Door feels solid, no movement in the hinges that I can feel. Not real sure how best to check them... is there bushings for 77's? I recall looking into that last year and being told they weren't available for my van but the memory is hazy now... -77 Chevy G10

Got a friend coming by tomorrow and we're gonna try to adjust it before attempting to bend anything. Thanks for the advice, I'll update after I've attempted to fix it -77 Chevy G10

And the gap at the bottom corner doesn't change at all so I'm guessing it's warped. The van was painted, including the hinges, which almost look bent slightly to me... but I put the seals on and they don't slam so hard anymore or leak any air -77 Chevy G10
