Suggestion For Good Shocks | Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 50 journeyman | OP journeyman Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 50 | I have a 1993 Chevy G20 "shorty" with a 4.3 V6. Runs great, low miles, and I've replaced close to everything on the engine and in the drive train. Doing brakes now and wanting to do shocks next. Any suggestions? I put in a lot of miles on the road...want something reliable, but as comfortable as possible!

Whatever you buy don't be cheap and get dual tube. Buy the HD monotube shocks. | | | Re: Suggestion For Good Shocks | Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 1,015 Likes: 19 old hand | old hand Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 1,015 Likes: 19 | | | | Re: Suggestion For Good Shocks | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 522 addict | addict Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 522 |

That said I love the feel of my KYB gas a Justs, but they are firm, not soft and squishy. I personally don't like soft and squishy.
I returned the monroe sensa tracs 35 miles after nearly getting seasick floating around on top of them.

I have a very heavy conversion in my 89 Ord. My van tips the scales at about 6400 pounds with just me in it driving. Add a full compliment of passengers and luggage and it is well over 7000 pounds.
I added a set of KYBs and noticed an immediate improvement in ride quality and handling, even with my worn out rear springs. I like a soft-Cadillac like ride, but I odn't think the KYBs on my van are harsh.
I have a full wheelbase heavy van. A lightweight shorty van might ride very differently with KYBs. Still, a van is a heavy vehicle, and I bet KYBs would work well.

Which Bilstein shocks do you recommend?
