It is leaking from here the driveshaft goes in the transmission. What's the leak and what is required to fix it? | | | Re: Identify the leak | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 4,043 pooh-bah | pooh-bah Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 4,043 | Rear trans seal. Drop the driveshaft, pop out the old seal with a screwdriver and replace with a new seal.

It should just be those 4 bolts in the picture?
Many thanks | | | Re: Identify the leak | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,463 Likes: 12 pooh-bah | pooh-bah Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,463 Likes: 12 | Offgrid2, if you haven't done it before, it might be worth wrapping the exposed surface of the yoke next to the seal with some cardboard, just in case you slip with your tool. You don't want to scratch that precision machined surface! You'd experience greatly accelerated wear of your new seal.
