On the 1995 G20 350 tbi I just bought I found this mess under the radator cap and overflow bottle, so I'm going to do a radiator flush. I can't find the owners manual anywhere,I've seen it takes about 18 quarts but I was wondering if the 1995 g20s use Dex-cool or regular green coolant? Thanks.

That looks like the result of mixing dex-cool with green antifreeze (unless your head gasket is bad). I've had good luck with Zerex G-05 I run it in everything I own tuners, euros, and the van. Just make sure to flush the system out thoroughly first. I like using a little dawn dish soap with straight water and flush it with that for a couple of heat cycles. Then completely drain and fill with coolant.

Should the radiator have a petcock drain, if so where would it be as I can't find it. Thanks

I have to pull the lower radiator hose on my '92.
And I agree with what tuner4life said about the sludge looking like mixed types of coolant.

The petcock was on the back of the radiator on the driver side I just reached my hand down from the under the hood with a leatherman to turn it, the frame is right below the nozzle but it all ended up in the drain pan.

Yeah it's nasty looking stuff, I'm going to use two Prestone flush bottles to clean it.

Never really had any luck with rad flushes.. Just flush as much as you can and refill with green and water.

Evaporust has a rad flush and derust product. I recommend you use distilled water rather than city water..

Sludge is usually the silicate fall out from the antifreeze. Happens when coolant isn't changed often enough.
