My Transmission fluid was a little low, I noticed that one of my lines was leaking. So I had to replace the line.

It hasnt been shifting correct, revs high in 2nd or 3rd, or maybe 3rd going into overdrive. It is the RH and not the RE. I noticed the RE code has an electronic governor pressure solenoid, and sensor.

But the 46RH has a mechanical governor assembly correct? So how do I adjust it. Also does it have the 3-4 Accumulator Spring?

Also it has been taking a few seconds and the jerking into Reverse

Take Care,
Kevin

Yes it's a mechanical governor and it cannot be adjusted.

Yes it has a 3-4 accumulator spring and they are prone to breaking.

Sounds like you need to adjust the bands on the transmission. The high rev 2-3 shift can be both related to the band or to a leaky seal. First adjust band. The band for reverse has to be adjusted internally by removing the transmission oil pan.
First start with the less expensive maintenance items the bands then re-evaluate. I have the service manual so I will take some photos from it and give you a link to the photos so you can use them. The photos I should have done tonight.

I just found this complete tear down and rebuild video set, very good and thorough. Really good, make me want to rebuild my transmission.

Only rebuild it if necessary. I've rebuilt them it's easy, but sometimes unnecessary.

Hoping I get a response. My search on the forums isn't working so I've been going through the pages. Was curious now that its 4 years later if you got your original symptoms fixed its the exact same as mine. Thanks!

I don't have the answer.

But over on the Bob is the Oil guy forums, there is one active poster with the handle of ClineBarger who seems to know everything about each transmission ever made, and is a true internet asset regarding all things mechanical regarding vehicles, but especially transmissions.

Dodge overdrive transmissions are very finicky about their transmission fluid, and few shops use ATF+4 saying their universal fluid with an additive magically turns their fluid synthetic with the right friction/ properties as ATF+4.

They are wrong.

Don't I know it!! I had the original transmission rebuilt on my '94 B250 (RIP). A few years later I wanted to replace the fluid so I called the shop that did the work just to confirm what type of fluid they used and the guy told me Dexron/Mercon with the Lubriguard additive. I thought that was a bit odd, but I commenced with changing out the fluid and used what the shop used. About a month later the transmission decided to take a sh*t on the PA turnpike on the way home from the Butler truck-in. First it just lost OD which wasn't really a big deal, but by the time I made it home all I had was 2nd gear, BUT I made it home! The next day I had a brand new transmission put in. I really learned my lesson on that debacle....only ATF+4 in the newer Mopar transmissions. I now believe that the original shop had used the proper fluid but told me wrong....probably by mistake but it cost me a transmission.
