My only concern would be keeping rocks and stuff off the paint, maybe some small unobtrusive mud flaps?
Since my van is primarily a people-mover, I decided to keep mine. Since mine are the older aluminum design, they look less like a ground-effects kit. Just my 2 cents worth. Nice to see shots of it in different locations, doing what vans do best, exploring!

Right behind the front doors and four screws in each fender.
As far as the paint goes I'm not overly concerned. She looks better in photos then in person. She needs to be repainted. You've got to know when to hold 'em Know when to fold 'em Know when to walk away And know when to run…
RIP Freedom our 1990 Ford E150
It looks like Freedom,is done for.I barely made it home tonight. It appears the head is blown as there is antifreeze in the oil. It did not run hot as per the gauge, but the oil pressure was pinned up then down, then up, down etc.I will not put another $1500 to $2000 in the van. We are going to strip it down and make it a storage unit for now.I itaking Black Magic to the shop this week to have the tranny rebuilt. That poor van has been down for 3 years next month. We can use the new tires and brand new battery from Freedom on Black Magic. That will save me $500 right there. Time to move on and forward. I am not stressing over it and am confident in our decision. RIP Freedom and thank you for the 7 plus years of service to our family.
I have a few things I will be using. I will let vanners know what is available in the next few weeks. But at least you can use many of the parts off it. | | | Re: Freedom (updated pics) | Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 9,881 Likes: 242 carpal tunnel | carpal tunnel Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 9,881 Likes: 242 | Sorry about your Ford Luke. But it had a good life, truck-ins and grocery getter. I've semi-retired ours. It just sits in the back yard waiting. I crank it every once in a while and move it around a little, keep the batteries up with float chargers. Penny has it packed to the hi-top with stuff..... It'll be good to see Black Magic on the road again. | | | Re: Freedom (updated pics) | Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 12,107 Likes: 37 Maniac | Maniac Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 12,107 Likes: 37 | Sorry to hear it Luke. But it sounds like it is dying to help other vans live. Yay!
Windows- they're what make a van worth owning! | | | Re: Freedom (updated pics) | Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 18,552 Likes: 137 Supreme Master | OP Supreme Master Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 18,552 Likes: 137 | As many parts as possible of all my dead vans have lived on. I got an acre of land of our own. It backs up to my wife's family's 38 acres. So I have plenty of room for parts vans.
Black Magic was towed to the shop today. Should be done in a couple of weeks.Transmission rebuild and some other odds and ends.
The new battery and tires Will be with Black Magic. Also I will be cutting and fitting Freedoms tube grille into her.
Serenity will be getting the two nice comfy front captain seats. Also the shoulder belts since Serenity only has lap belts .
I will also pass parts on to other vanners.
