In the foreground of this image is a connector that is not plugged into anything. I have no idea what this connector is for. It exits the large wiring conduit near the EGR valve and appears to have one yellow wire and one black/grey wire. I don't see any other connector anywhere that it might plug into.

I noticed that the coolant temperature sensor next to the thermostat appears to run through the same conduit and has the same color wires. I attempted a continuity test on the yellow wire and got nothing.

The engine is a TBI 5.7 in a 1987 G20.

Anybody know what this might be? Thanks!

Anyone else see the picture? All I see is the placeholder for it. gmcsmb, this is behind the TBI, a little to the passenger side, correct? Is the IAC plugged in?

Ah, not IAC, that's four wires, sorry. Yellow/Blk was coolant temp I thought. Do you mean to the immediate pass side of the TBI? That's the EGR controller, and that's where the CTS plug exits the harness on mine. Look way up to the top front pass side of the engine for the CTS. Is should be plugged in, but some guys try disconnecting them for some kind of perf gain, I guess.

runnamukk, are you still unable to see the photo? It's large so it may take a moment to download.

This is not the connector for the EGR solenoid. This is a non-weatherproof female "pigtail".

I think by CTS you mean coolant temperature sensor. AFAIK, I have one of those (single wire) on the driver side of my engine block that provides a signal to the coolant temperature gauge in the dashboard. The other is near the thermostat and has a 2-wire, weatherproof connector. The unplugged connector that's the subject of this thread is neither of those.

Not sure what an IAC is.

Gotcha. No, still can't see pic. And yup, not the CTS then. Is the MAP sensor plugged in? I presume this is a running engine? If the connector is some add on thing then I'd have -no- idea, sorry.

Hm, I can see the picture just fine on two different browsers. And yes, the engine runs just fine.

Can you guys see this?

Rather than asking you to trust me and accept the certificate, I relocated the image.

Please let me know if you're able to see it now and if you know what that connector might be. Thanks!
