This turn signal lever was broken. I ordered a universal aluminum one but then found out there are little tabs on the stock ones. Ended up pulling this off an old truck in the junk yard. These suicide shifters are either way cheap, too big, or way too expensive. An aluminum one for a boat will fit 71 to 77 Dodge Van. It's great I like they way it feels cruising around. The old visors were roached out. I found these Mach truck visors and thought they might fit. I had to drill slightly bigger holes, knock the visor rods in to shorten them and gently bend up and out. They Fit! I love them! I like the big rig instructions. The doors had one lock pull remaining which was aluminum milled to look like a bullet. I threw the doors into the shed and forgot it until recently when straightening things up in there. I really thought it was cool so I found out who made them and ordered some. After ordering two different sets I discovered that universal doesn't necessarily mean universal. You would think pulls would be easy to get a hold of but not necessarily. Doors need 8/32 tread which was hard to find because I guess most door pulls are 10/24 thread. I found Kustom Knob Works and he made me a set. https://www.facebook.com/Kustom-Knobworks-519477408120220/They look good on her and she seemed pretty happy about them. Rims are a big upgrade, looks sharp Yeah I like them too but if I had to do it again I would have gotten the 4 inch back space instead of the 4.5. | | | Re: Bblintpicker's 77 Dodge, "Devil's Way" Street Van | Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 443 addict | OP addict Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 443 | looking very good, and like the colour, what's the colour code of your Van? Russet Sunfire DT3435 It's got a nice little sparkle in it. | | | Re: Bblintpicker's 77 Dodge, "Devil's Way" Street Van | Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 443 addict | OP addict Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 443 | Old floor mats were in rough shape they were really brittle and falling apart. I honestly think they were from an early 80's dodge van because they really didn't fit at all. I had pulled a big rubber mat from the junkyard over the summer to lay down in the back but of the other but this seemed a better use. So I made some templates. . . Cut the NTM rubber and installed. Honestly I don't love it. I cleaned them really good but they just look dingy. I need a better solution but they are fine for now. Then I installing a dog house cover from Wilson's Custom Upholstery! It's really nice. If I had to order again I would have gotten side pockets. https://www.instagram.com/stitchin_wilson/ Just need my seats back from powder coating so we can be on the road again. | | | Re: Bblintpicker's 77 Dodge, "Devil's Way" Street Van | Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 443 addict | OP addict Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 443 | Got a Vanner from Florida to send me some much needed little parts. My favorite for sure was the NTM shift lever and the little spring for inside the column. So without this little spring your shift lever just flops around in the column. I could see how it could turn up missing but it was driving me bonkers driving around with it all floppy. I found a junkyard in NH with a 70's Dodge on the lot and was hoping the side doors were in good shape. It turned out to be second gen and totally rusted out but I was able to snag some large pop out windows and some other odds and ends that I couldn't pass on. | | |
