I am wanting to install a moon-roof into the back ceiling of my van, and I have never done any body work. I had the luck of getting a moon-roof from a nice guy through facebook, which i'll show in pictures, and I hope i have all the parts. I want to make sure i do this right, so i'm hoping to get some advice and support from fellow vanners.

I'm equipped with a copy of "customizing your van" by allan girdler, so I don't feel like i'm flying into this completely blind. The first crucial step is to make sure I have a properly sized template drawn out before i cut into the roof. I understand how to drill the proper sized hole within the template, and what tools to use to cut into the roof. But after that, I start to get hesitant about what to do. I know i ask a ton of questions, but bear with me

How do I secure the window to the roof? Do I need to do anything about sealing around the window> the two parts of the window are the part with glass and what is a faux wood frame. Does the wooden frame go into the interior of the van? How is it secured to the roof? Or essentially merged or sandwiched with the window? What do I have and what do I do? Please help

The brown pc is the interior trim. The roof gets sandwiched in between the 2 pcs.

your gonna need some of this to seal the roof.

I would save my bucks and get a real sunroof, that one you have will hold water around the edge and will leak overtime, plus That bit of corrosion will get much worse, Aluminum corrodes fast.
