When I'm out and about in my van, the guys usually make "Free candy" and "Let's get the band back together jokes".
However, the ladies seem to like it, and I've gotten several compliments on it from some very attractive women.

So now, when a guy pops off a joke, I kind of have to bite my tongue to keep from saying, "That's not what your sister said."
LOL

VANNING isn't gone, but American style vans are- in the new market.

Simple economics- even in the boon times of the 70's, vans were a small fraction of an automaker's output. Enter increasing regulations and costs go up. Dodge gave up first simply because the time to amortize the cost of retooling for new regs was too great- it would have taken them a decade to recoup the costs, and since they were owned by Daimler, there was a ready to go- already meets the regs alternative just over in Europe. Only a matter of time before the others followed suit.

Whatever was the reason. It's a shame frown. One of the sad chapters in automotive history.

I guess at least there still are full-size vans (regardless of how dorky some of them look).
The full-size station wagon died years ago, and in its heyday, it wasn't a niche vehicle.

I think the full-size SUV replaced both.

Minivan is all but dead. Crossovers killed it.
