If it is working fine, don't mess with it! If the van has high mileage or has been in severe service, you may want to drop the pan to adjust the bands. Just be sure you know what you are doing. Band adjustments aren't hard, but you need to know the specifications for the adjusting screws. Refill it with ATF+4 or, better yet, Dexron VI (cheaper and better than ATF+4).
