A wealth of info for finding old part numbers, and exploded views for disassembly and assembly.

Just remember AD and AW series refer to trucks and it is only the B series that refers to van.

That's totally awesome Meanmachine, thanks so much for sharing it here!

It's a digital copy of my 5" thick vintage Dodge Dealer's parts book - this is *well* worth saving a copy of right away! I've got mine now! smile

For any newer vintage Dodge owners who haven't had the "pleasure" of dealing with Chrysler/Dodge Dealers and their (non)parts counters before - in addition to what Reed very wisely pointed out, please note that many of the part numbers in this vintage manual have been superseded with newer numbers, or flat out discontinued. You may still be able to obtain certain of the parts, especially via internet search, but it's safer to consider it reference/research material as much as anything.

Some of the illustrations in this manual are much easier to see and understand than in the much later natively digital manuals, so it's *great* info for comparison reasons, even if you do have the later versions.

I got to thinking that this would be a great opportunity to expand on Meanmachine's generosity, and to consolidate some other important Mopar parts information sources, so I'll add an excerpt of a post I'd made in July of 2010 about one of my most valuable "secret weapon" Mopar parts information resources:

"Last fall I discovered a Russian website which contains digitized copies of the microfiche parts catalogs ("E-Fiche") a Dodge dealer would have.

So, please note that this is *parts* information - *not* service information!

The entire catalog (which *is* in English) covers years from 81 - 09, and is made up of five CDs. CD #1 is for Dodge light trucks, like Vans, SUVs, Jeeps, etc. CD #2 is for passenger vehicles. I haven't really gone through the other CD's, since I don't own the newer vans, but I did see the 2003 Ram Vans and wagons on CD #4, as well as the Sprinter vans.

This is *very* useful information, since it makes it possible for me to look up parts without dealing with the dealer parts counter person's attitude issues, and it allows me to go directly to the various online Mopar parts vendors like www.wholesalemopar.com to perform my own searches for parts.

I can also verify if an identical part appeared on another Dodge vehicle by comparing part numbers.

Each file's name identifies which year it's for, like file 84t.pdf is the 1984 year light truck parts catalog. Believe it or not, despite it only being 8 megabytes, it's 947 pages long!!

The files are all in an active menu pdf format; you expand the directory tree in the left pane to access the various chapters and pages in each section.

The files contain detailed illustrations, VIN decoders, engine ID info, and of course Mopar part names and numbers. They even describe how to decode the body code plates, which contain such things as the paint, trim and axle codes! It's *quite* a treasure trove.

If you're interested, I'd suggest downloading all of the files you need, (they average about 15 megabytes each) and sorting through them later... you never can tell how long things like this will remain available. BTW, the downloading is slow...

Here's the link for CD1, which has the vintage B-van info:

Here's a link for the top menu to all 5 CDs:

Ram, good to hear from you. I have the 1974-77 Mopar Parts Catalog, 5 3/4" thick and thousands of pages. I bought it years ago, the manual was in excellent condition, no grease or smudge marks, tears, creases, or missing pages, not like a lot of manuals that seen extensive shop use, it came from a closed Plymouth garage parts counter, paid around $200 for it. The manual has been very useful over the years. A couple weeks ago I was searching for a couple parts, looked up the numbers, called my local Chrysler dealership, they looked them up, and told me a garage in Kansas had the parts. Phoned them and had the parts in 3 days. The dates on the parts when they were received at the garage in Kansas, were June, 1978, amazing they would let the parts lay that long in their inventory. A lot of the garages threw this stuff out many years ago. Even if the part number has been superceded, if you have the original, you can mostly find the newer number, some sites will even reference both. One thing to remember, most of the kids working at these parts counters, weren't even born when these vans were built, know nothing about them, and don't want to take the time to try and search and find an obsolete part.

The 78-81 was the only year I found on-line access to. I do have the factory Parts Catalog for 1984-85 Light Duty Dodge Trucks.

I grabbed my copy of the 78-81 parts manual. Section 9B is basically porn.
