Took the back door off to replace the pins but they are rusted in there good. Even used lube and the air compressor. I may try heat but I wasn’t trying to mess up the paint. A little disappointed in the back seat I thought it was saggy cushions but it’s actually the bar. Lubed it up so now it lays down and pops up good. Found the right spot for the back seat, I wanted it forward more but with were the windows are it just didn’t feel right when sitting there. I spent a ton of time finding the exact right spot - both front seats will swivel around! Very happy about that cause I dint think it would with the shifter. Almost didn’t post these cause that looks like mold with the worklight on it – yikes! Now I can get brackets mocked and cut so I can bolt it all down. Try PB Blaster yet om those hinges? | | | Re: Bblintpicker's 77 Dodge B200 Shorty | Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 443 addict | OP addict Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 443 | Yeah that's what I used CWB I'll have to put a little heat on when I get a chance.
I got my 1/8th in steel for the seat bases cut today over at a metal shop. It was nice to have the day off but unfortunately the salvage yard was closed.
Hay the back of this old girl has bed liner everywhere - its flacking up a lot. I guess it doesn't matter if I'm putting more plywood down cause your not going to see it but it looks like there may have been plywood down in the back before based on all the screw holes. If I put more down I'm worried about moisture getting back up under there. What the heck do you do about all those holes? | | | Re: Bblintpicker's 77 Dodge B200 Shorty | Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 706 old hand | old hand Joined: Nov 2008 Posts: 706 | It did. The first owner tarred the floor in the 70s and it had 3/4 ply over it with a 100 flat head screws in it.
Possible options:
Reshoot it with new bed liner and cover it up, or scrape it off with a heat gun then weld up all the little holes. Wire wheels and grinders get gummed up quick with that stuff. Or instead of weld once it clean, chrome tape the whole floor.. but thats a shortcut it could build could possibly trap water if it got under the tape... but the floors in my ford are 20% chrome tape and its held up good for the last 3 years. When I took off that temp seat the board was wet and had ice on it so it got me thinking about the other little holes. The new pic of your 4x4 is great I like that thing more and more buddy! | | | Re: Bblintpicker's 77 Dodge B200 Shorty | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,463 Likes: 12 pooh-bah | pooh-bah Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,463 Likes: 12 | Just a thought... if you're not keen on a lot of welding of holes, you may be able to inject body panel adhesive into the screw holes to plug them. Since a floor isn't much structurally, and there isn't any significant flexing there, it may work well.

I've been wanting to do this since I got her. Doing the template wasn't too hard. I've still got to glue the oak boards but it's at least mocked up. My wife thought I should cut a hole for a phone to sit. It looks like the top doesn't match the bottom but its just the angle. Back table
