I was rolling east on 90 and you were heading west. Get it rolling man! Ahh! I'm glad someone spotted it on the road! The Surf is FINALLY in Oregon! It was delivered just a few days ago. The shipping took a while to set up, but man was it worth it! I was able to go around uship, use a private shipper, and get a better rate without any crazy fees, and my van was delivered safely in one piece! Rick was the main driver of the van, and the guy I corresponded with to organize the shipping. He was very excited to be the one to do this job. His enthusiasm was definitely helpful with how long it took to get everything sorted out. If anyone is shipping a vehicle any time soon, I can get you in contact with these dudes. Super solid, and willing to go the extra mile to help their customers. If I ever have to ship another vehicle, I know who to call! As for the restoration, it's time to begin! The plan of action is to replace all the brakes, and associated parts to get the van rolling and stopping. Then we need to free up, or replace the shifter column so it can shift through the gears. After that it's time for the engine tune up. I'm planning to get the van into drivable condition by late September to bring to the RDVC van meet in Portland. The body and paint will be the last step of the process obviously, but luckily I've got plenty to keep me busy with the interior. I'll be putting together a parts list pretty soon, so all you parts hoarders keep your eyes peeled. I'm gonna be buying a lot of crap here pretty soon!

I still can't thank you enough for letting all of this happen! I decided today that to get started on the restoration sooner than later,my teal 1969 ford is officially the donor van. It has almost everything the surf needs. Including a VIN and clean title.

The surf is coming along slowly. It's been a money saving game for a while. I have a fresh 302 being built by Portland Engine Rebuilders, and have been putting proposals out to a few places for some parts sponsorships. I have the interior removed, and have started making templates of the old pieces that are left. I found a Coleco Telstar game system hidden behind a panel above the fridge, and found out where the TV was originally located. I'll post some photos soon!
