No washing for 2 weeks & no wax for 30 days. Is what I was told when they painted both of my vans.

What Frske1 said...

One of the managers where I used to work was a compulsive fanatic waxer, only waited three weeks, and really messed up the new black paint on his Toyota Celica Supra. Holographic swirls and worse. And it had even been run through a baking room prior to his picking it up.

Paints are better now than then, (late 80's) but at the expense of such a large job as a van, I'd follow the manufacturer's recommendations, and perhaps even pad that some.

It's what you learn after you know it all, that counts...

You do NOT want to wax a matte finish you will create all kinds of ugly. Actually you will end up with Semi-gloss. lol
