Thanks guys! I want nothing to do with molding fiberglass lol. But it does sound like a neat idea if someone wanted to make a mold if it, My only request would be to give be one of them once they are made.

the overhead console is 99% done. Just a couple tiny pinholes and screw heads that I need to smooth over. I'm happy with how it's turned out. I am going to wait to vinyl wrap it until after the windshield is installed that way I know if I need to trim any more off the front edge or not. I also need to cut the hole to mount the switch panel above the CB radio. I'm going to be using Carling blue LED switches with custom rocker covers from rockerswitchpros.com. Should be neat.

Also cut the glove box door. Still working on a hinge and latch solution for that.

I've also been planning out the routing of the wire harnesses for all of the stuff I'm adding. For being such a large open vehicle, there is limited space to run wires especially between the engine bay and cabin, as well as between the dash and ceiling. I have a set of A-pillar cover trims from a Bellevue which are nice and cover the ends of the dashboard, as well as have a space behind them that can be used for hiding wires along the pillar. I did need to drill some holes in the ends of the metal dash support for the wires to pass through into the pillars. I drilled 3/4" holes which I should easily be able to find grommets for so the wires don't chafe. I was able to fit 3 holes on the driver's side and 2 on the passenger side. They will be nicely hidden by the pillar cover trims.

Later in the weekend, it was disgustingly cold and I didn't feel like walking outside to the shop, so I stayed inside and worked on the headlight bezels. I've had them for a while, and finally got around to de-painting them. These are aftermarket bezels from ebay that I got for around $65. They are chrome plated plastic, but the majority of the part is painted silver to match the factory look. However, under the silver paint they are fully chrome plated. I used 100% acetone nail polish remover and paper towels to remove the silver paint and underlying residue. Then I finished cleaning them up with Windex and some old t-shirt rags. They turned out amazing for the small time investment in them.

Right is before, Left is after:

And both completed:

This week will consist of vinyl wrapping more pillar and window trims, POR-15 application in a few spots under the cowl and in the engine bay that I forgot about previously. Also going to start looking at how I want to modify the dash and center console if at all..

Looks Great.

The '76's are not as hard to reach. I hit them with a buffer.

Awesome job on the headlight bezels! I have to go out and stare at my 89 G20 bezels and wonder what's hiding under there!

Original bezels likely won't be fully chromed. These were cheap replacements from ebay

So the next couple weeks will probably just be slow methodical progress. I'll try to accomplish at least 1 small project in the shop each evening and/or upholstery vinyl wrap one more interior trim part. So with that in mind..

Yesterday, I received my switch panel for the Carling rocker switches I plan to use. I don't have the switches yet, but I can fit the panel while I wait for the switches.

Here is the panel I got:

https://www.banggood.com/8pcs-ARB-C...EAQYAiABEgIOFvD_BwE&cur_warehouse=CN

It's a well designed piece that is completely modular. Sections can be added or removed to hold as many/few switches as you want. I bought the 8 switch panel, but ended up only using 6 sections because I didn't want to remove any more material from the console than I already was. This switch panel will hold all of the switches for the mood lighting inside and outside.

Then I went inside the house and got to work on one of the A-pillar trim covers. Wrapped it in black marine grade vinyl using 3M super 90 adhesive. Everything went smoothly (although very time consuming), but as you can see, there are always a few spots where the glue seems to need just a little "help" staying put until it dries.

Hopefully I'll work on the other side tonight.
