| | | Belltech drop spindles & reamer for tie rods | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 142 member | OP member Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 142 | Not happy with the front end I went and got a set of Belltech 2600 drop spindles.
My 94 tie rod ends are too big for the spindles tapered seat.
A little research and it seems I should be able to ream them out, using the specific sized reamer for dodge.
Reamers come in 1.5" / foot type measurements....1.25, 2" etc ....
Anyone know off hand what ream works with these tie rods? How would I measure this off the tierod?
Additionally, while im here, is a hiem joint or other upgrade worth it? | | | Re: Belltech drop spindles & reamer for tie rods | Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 57 journeyman | journeyman Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 57 | I have the same spindles for my van. What have you found. I was just going to bring them to the local machine shop and have it done.

Have you tried rods from a slightly older model?? I believe I used 92 B350 ones in mine.. My van is a 77....
How do you know it won't work? Have you tried it, yet?? Mad Anthony Vanners - Looking for more members

Replacing a thicker factory tierod stud for a thinner one sounds counterintuitive. Here is what moog lists for a 94 B250... http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MOOG-ES2121L

Yes no doubt, and I hate extra work....Im thinking I might have a set of Belltech 2600 vs 2605 as I understand there is a difference in tierod bores.....Hope thats the only difference.
But unless Im doing it wrong, the new tie rods for the 94 van do not fit the steering hole on the Belltech spindle.
Think what I might do is buy as much misc crap I can bolt onto the spindle and build it up off the van to make sure alls good. Worried about the CALIPER mounts, BALL JOINTS, BEARINGS and DISC now too. I'll post pics if I get anywhere. | | | Re: Belltech drop spindles & reamer for tie rods | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,148 old hand | old hand Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,148 | Check with your local parts dealer as well to see if the original Dakota tie rod ends will have bore you will need, but same diameter and threading as van control sleeves. Maybe the Dakota tie rod end on the van tie rod maybe the combo to stay bolt in for you...
