I just noticed the window cutouts on the Bedfords ,I am sure that they were not the first van with factory window cutout panels visible on exterior ,but that was one of the biggest turnoffs for me on any vans that had them (still is). I wonder if that saves that much money at the factory to stamp those in, I remember some pickup trucks with the weird cutout panel in the bigger cabs. Just do not understand why factories think these is a good idea.

Because it saves on tooling costs. If it's a panel, you remove the punch that cuts out the hole for the window.

Since a die big enough to stamp out the side of a van costs $500,000 or more, it's a big cost saving to only need one die.

Mileage on that Semi van must suck & page 2 with the Astro with outside backseat..since there arent many convertible vans out there l guess this was their response..lol

The Astro with the flying chair is actually kind of famous on YouTube awhile back as he drives around his ranch in it doing wheelies. It has a mid motor if I recall right. If I can find a video link, I will post it.
