Boob Eaton and Jerkin have their money, and the automaker formerly known as Chrysler is gasping for breath. Kirk Kerkorian is lighting a fire under Jerkin's ass to turn DC around in 6 months or he's gonna sue, this may spell the end of the line for Chrysler. What does this have to do with Vanning? Well for starters one less make of van to choose from. But more importantly, look at the rest of Chrysler's lineup. Some damn attractive vehicles in there, isn't there? What if there was a redesigned Ram Van with the V-10? Drool Drool. But the company that brought you the Street Van, the first factory "custom" van, will not be building any more vans, and may not even exist much longer. Even if you are not a Mopar fan, this is a sad day if Chrysler folds, because the sales will likely go to foreign carmakers, most likely the Koreans, because there will no longer be a low cost domestic brand. | | | Re: Jerkin Schrimmp Strikes Again! #58316 January 17th 2001 12:48 am | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 1,962 veteran | veteran Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 1,962 | Boy I gotta tell ya, I'm REALLY ticked about this. I've always owned Dodge vans. Guess I'll be keeping this one forever. There is a web site, Allpar.com I believe, thats for Mopar lovers. There are all kinds of topics to check out including a rumors section. I check this site out now and then and thats where I first read about the end of the Ram Van. Sniff. Wheres those damn tissues? Anyway, I also read that very few Chrysler stock holders are happy with the "merger" with Diamler-Benz. I'll be watching to see what happens. Along with a few million other Mopar fans. | | | Re: Jerkin Schrimmp Strikes Again! #58317 January 17th 2001 12:46 pm | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 166 member | member Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 166 | I have been angry for a long time about the whole german takeover thing, and how it was done. The full size van will not be the only product that suffers. If you all will remember, Dodge priced their full size short van so low that both Ford and Chevy quit making full size short vans!!!!!! Dodge has owned that portion of the market for years. ------------------
