Just got the Astro home today. Went and picked it up from Donnie and Becky's house this morning. Runs like a tp and still had most of a full tank of gas ,,,,just like we left it in the hands of AAA.

Cheers!

The more time goes on the more I think of what happened to the Astro this last weekend at Spring Fever, Sunday morning as I went to start the van to go home and leave quietly so not to disturb our friends and neighbors parked by us.... While i tried to crank the van in short bursts, Cason came out from behind their van and said " fuel pump???", As I sat there , stress setting in horribly, Cason said, in the most simple of terms , seeing it all happen in my face... " Hey man, your with friends, There is nothing to worry about" !!! I immediately had a calm come over me as I thought ... wow you are right. I could not be among the most helpful people that I know. It was not even eight o'clock and Bob McIntire offered us a ride to home Eight hours away, The Hosts Don and Becky Noone from Vantasia offered a place to get the van fixed at an Honest and reputable mechanic's shop, So a plan started to develop within minutes. I did have to pass on the ride home from Bob ...Thanks anyway my friend, but I did have to see the Astro off with AAA who delivered the van to the shop the next day compliments of AAA at no extra charge, but Don and Becky loaded us up in their vans and don got us to KCIAirport and Linda and I rented a car and got home by 11:30 am we were in a rental Dodge Avenger that got us home (450 Miles) on only 3/4 of a tank of gas.!!! that'll spoil you ...LOL
I do not mean to write a book , but what I am trying to say in a real life situation Vanners are there for you, Like Cason said ..."Hey Man,,you are with friends, There is nothing to worry about".
In 37 years of Vanning this is the first time I have ever been nailed by a dead van on Sunday morning. To finish this up The honest mechanics shop that could have hung it in my backside, charged me only $320 to change out the in tank fuel pump/sending unit and put the full tank of gas back in the tank when I picked it up I had lost nothing. I feel that I got a very honest deal when they had me by the short's. Cason was right, I would have been in bad shape had I have been on the side of the road , but Thankfully I was in the company of Vanners and They took care of our van and my wife, dog and myself. MUCH Thanks to Vantasia Vans and Bob McIntire and all who helped even you Cason...lol Turned a bad situation into something tolerable with a good sense of humor.
Thanks to all who helped and even offered to, we appreciate it very much.

Took too long to post this. We day tripped to Spring Thaw and had a great time. Vantasia knows how to throw a party. We thank them for a great time. Wish we could have came earlier and stayed longer.
