haha That old adage comes into play here, "Pictures don't really show much".

It really isn't a hard job to do. See my reply to Doug. Also, I'm sure once you have done a few, they get a lot easier to get the right placement.

The hinge gets welded to the pillar structure and also to the door, so it takes a lot of time to make sure it's right before welding anything.

Im 185 lbs...i have a hard time getting in my astro with normal doors!!!

I would not take it wrong, I promise, I am a BIG BOY at 6'2" tall and 300 pounds, that is why I asked, to get a honest answer! Thanks, guess I will NOT be doing this mod to my Astro ! lol

Good Stuff Ken: At Least this astro you didn't have fabricate the post near the windshield.some stros have a corner pc. Mine we had to cut and put a pvc pipe and bundo so the door can go thru.In the pic you can see the white corner pc. Keep Up that Talented work. Hey I want to do something to my slider.

The biggest issue with this door, I believe is, that the kit that he had is not for an Astro. I have seen a couple different Astro's after I did this, and they had a completely different type of Lambo kit. With the right one, the whole thing may work better (easier). If I had more time with this van, I would have re-engineered the hing to make it work better.
