Trying to sell my old 4x4 and got offered a 67 Econoline in trade. It's about three hours away and I have friends in the area i may send to look at it for me. What should I have them look for? Are there places they should take a lot of pictures of for me? He's sent me a few shots already but you can't tell much from cell phone pictures.

You will have some typical rot in lower rear quarter panels and maybe elsewhere, just have them check it over good, something that old unless it's fully restored will need some TLC..good luck..

Any issues above the windshield on the inside?

I figured to look really close at the area where the floor meets the wall. I drove a couple hours north to Ohio one time to look at a Econoline that the guy said was solid. Looked decent in the pictures on Craigs List even. Got there and there was a ring of rust holes all the way around the thing at floor level. Found out his pictures were a few years old.

So now I'm leary. He also says it's a 300 six but I'm discounting that as well.

Frames crack behind the steering box too.
When you turn the wheel the floor will move under your feet at the column base.

Also look over the gutters real good as well as everything else posted ^^^^.

A 67,being the best year of early production,is always a plus to start with. Verify that the VIN number on the tag matches the one stamped on the rear tail light brace inside the van and also on the top of the bell housing hump. Tags are easy to swap so it may not match. Verify that it does have a dual master cylinder(rectangular not round). Check the undercarriage front to rear on both sides. Its the single most important thing since its unibody. Dont worry about a few missing parts,I can always get those for you. Check the roof for damage, gutter rot, etc. Check the steering for excessive play, brakes, and suspension(springs, shackles, sway bar end links, king pin play) for wear and missing components. SNoop in the doghouse for wiring nightmares, radiator condition and oil leaks. Taking a little extra time now will save time and money later.
