Great post Wookee. Gotta love the beltway and the Va.speedway. Sounds like you handled it like a Vanner(been there, done that). In an early that had to be an interesting ride. Vanners who preserve the history of vanning by owning and driving Earlys are worthy of our respect.

I wish I could say I drove my Early down.Due to time limitations and I am working on my Early to get her ready for the trip to Wisconsin.I drove my late model down.It is no spring chicken an 89 with 106,000 miles.
This van was a pleasure to drive. I made the trip down in 22 hours straight trough.
The "Beast" would have looked great with it's brothers with there back door to De Bay
