I love Ghost Towns, but come on now! Where are you guys? I'm feeling alone here LOL! Calling all Chevy Mini owners!! Here's our Venture and the short list of things I've done: - Kenwood DNX-8120 AM/FM/CD/DVD/GXM30 XM NavTraffic XM/GPS/KCA-iP300V iPod Control/Dual Video Out, where I can play content on:
- Skyworth 17.5" TV/DVD w/XBox Hookup & Dual Display w/Second iPod in the rear.
- Boyo VT-403 Rear View Camera Dual Monitor Hookup
- Cobra 200GTL-DX CB w/Wilson 1000 (all hard wired)
- Escort Passport 9500i Radar Detector (hard wired)
- TomTom 920 GPS (Secondary) (hard wired)
- Xantrex 400-Watt Inverter (Primary) in dash (hard wired).
- Cobra CPI-2575 2500 Watt Inverter (Secondary) under seat.
- Microwave, Coffee Maker, "Fridge"
- Multiple 10-gauge 12v and 5v USB Power Ports throughout.
- Twin Size Bed, Privacy Windows, Privacy Curtain, etc.
- Dome light installation (this van came without a factory dome light above). I used one from my old Dodge Caravan that I scrapped.
For the complete full list, including tons of pictures (along with some basic instructions for DIY'ers), there's a link in my signature. Some pictures: If anyone would like any help at all doing something similar with their own mini (what I like to call my poor man's RV lol), please don't hesitate to ask. I also had a couple of Voyagers I did something similar, but less scale with. Anyway, if you have improvements to what I've done, please do share them. I am always open to new suggestions! Appreciate the comments!
Yeah, we do occasionally both sleep on the twin, but I extend the width at the upper body area with extra pillows and cushions we keep down below and place them atop the luggage and "fridge" creating a full-to-queen size thing. The mattress is great and it's very comfortable. But mostly, we take turns napping while the other is driving when we're on the "home stretch" leaving the last destination headed back to New York.
I do have exterior pics of the Venture. I'll post a couple in a bit, but it looks almost stock, aside from the Wilson 1000 on the roof and the blackened windows I painted. | | |
