This is a great thread!
Really enjoy the pictures of folks out there exploring the country in their vans.
Almost all of the trips in my van are going to and from van runs. Over the last ten years my Cruiser has taken me up and down the east coast from Vermont to Virgina Beach, And as far west as Kansas.
The last few years I have really started to take the time to enjoy the trips. Traveling the back roads and byways instead of the highways. It is always fun to pull into a gas station or little diner off the beaten path. Everyone takes a minute to stop and check out the van.
And you always get to hear those great stories about 'my dad had a van' or 'i used to have a van'
It always seems to bring back great memories for the onlookers.
So keep these words in mind on your way to the next truck-in...
Half the fun is getting there smile

The more I travel, the more I like the back roads. I love discovering the forgotten gems of local life such as out-of the-way sights, restaurants, and things to do. I wish I had more time and money to just get in the van and go exploring.

What is a Honey Bucket you ask?

A brand of port-a-potty, often left unattended in remote areas and almost always vandalized, overfilled, and odiferous. At least here in Washington, the name "Honey Bucket" is both a brand name and a generic term for a portable toilet. The particular Honey Bucket I saw had been left bolted to a Harbor Freight 4x8 trailer and hadn't been emptied in a while. It had been sitting so long that most of the blue chemical mixture in the holding tank had evaporated. There was a good size colony of flies living in the tank as well. Here it is:

The term Honey Bucket also has always been used for the bucket that prisoners in solitary/isolation used for two things 1 is of course a wooden bucket used for a john.2 it was used for great fun and ammusment trying to slop its contents on to unsuspecting bulls(guards)as they walked past the cells.Maybe thats why it didn't take long for this young nation to build new prisons with that new fangeled in door plumbin.
