Before I joined when just googling. I'll see if I can find it, thanks.

You may pick a wheel and tire combo that may not work with flairs at all. It is prolly best to work with both at the same time in planning and get the flairs firs so you can at least tape them in place to see what rim and tire size will work best with the flair. | | | Re: Any good threads with some pics showing molded in fender flares???? | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 107 member | OP member Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 107 | Well, originally I was going to use some of my skills at tucking big meats, from my experience's with street/strip musclecars. However, I fell for some oldschool Ansen slotteds for out back. Have always loved the slotteds, but never used them. Had I tucked tires with a 5" backspace wheel out back, I would not have even needed flares, nor would they have looked right. But now, these oldschool wheels are shallow on the backside, which means flares will be likely almost mandatory. Right now I have 15x10 slotteds with a hair of a 3" backspace for the rear, and I have some 14x10's with a 3.5" backspace coming for the front. The 14x10's up front, may or may not fly, I'll have to wait and see about caliper clearance issues there. May have to back it off to 15x8.5's out front. If they do work, I'll either have N50's or L60's out back, and if the 14x10's fit up front, then L60-14's up front.
I'm clearly going to need flares, if I want the tread even close to covered, but custom flares may be more in order here. Based on my measurements and looking at other van pics.

And here are the baby 10's I have coming, to try and make fit. May not work, but won't know forsure, without actually giving it a shot. I'm really crossing my fingers I can get the 14x10's to work up front. Both in physically clearing the brakes, and not looking wrong. Reason is, they are a very close match for the rears I already have, in the way they are made. While I don't like the step being near the outer edge, the payoff is in how smooth they are coming of the wheels center. Which is normally only how 15x12's or 14 wides are made.

Just and FYI use new flares if you are going to this I found out (the hardway) the older ones get hairline cracks that are hard to fix. | | | Re: Any good threads with some pics showing molded in fender flares???? | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 107 member | OP member Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 107 | Those look real nice Lil_Ed. Look kinda bigger too, and they have a nice angle down on the top which I like. Thanks for the pointer to your link.
