A few pics of my 74 Dodge Shorty | Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 105 member | OP member Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 105 | Hi All, I'm new to the forum, but wanted to post a few pics of my 74 Dodge shorty that I bought out of Washington state. It cost me as much to ship it as it did to purchase. Oh well, I thought it was a good starter ride. It is a 318 with headers. I've done some research here and am looking to get better fuel mileage. Reed's posts were very informative. I've bought a weiand intake and a 500 CFM Edelbrock carb. I'm contemplating a A518 tranny swap. My goal is to have a dependable road trip rig with decent fuel mileage. Here it is at the paint booth. I have already stripped the slot wheels, because they were painted white with house paint. Just for giggles I put the 2 10 inch wide rims on one side to see what it would look like. I'll be putting on the 15x7's on the front. I'll be going back with a different design graphically on the hood and the sides. Molding in the flares. The paint is going to be Calypso Coral. Dropping it down a few inches and adding sidepipes. Interior pretty basic Anyways sorry about the rambling I'm just super pumped. http://s860.photobucket.com/albums/...ew¤t=03051746.jpg&newest=1http://s860.photobucket.com/albums/...ew¤t=03241524.jpg&newest=1http://s860.photobucket.com/albums/...ew¤t=03241523.jpg&newest=1http://s860.photobucket.com/albums/...ew¤t=03241518.jpg&newest=1 | | | Re: A few pics of my 74 Dodge Shorty | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 894 old hand | old hand Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 894 | Nice Dodge, Keep updating the pics, cant wait to see the new paint

But the automatic will get within a couple mpg of the manual.

I was considering doing that with mine. I just don't dig the idea now until I can get 14 inchers for the rear. Just something about big in back and a bit less wide in front for me.
