Surfin' some hot rod sites today I found 2 new early slammed to the ground Econos being built.
One of them might actually be in the Grand National Roadster Show next weekend : GNRS slammed Econo

The other one from Iowa is scheduled to be done by the summer:
Slammed Econo in Iowa

Shadow from Ohio is still building his as well. Maybe we will see it at the Nats one day.
Shadow's slammed Econo

The second link isn't working right! frown

Wicked cool, but must be a bear to drive with the fender raised up so high inside. At least on the first van.

You might need to be a member of the H.A.M.B to see the second one. I'll post some pictures of it this weekend.

The first one looks like they did a "body drop".......
I technique very popular with the late model and mini truck guys........
I good bit harder to pull off on an Early.
If the suspension is "bagged" it could be a decent driver......

I'm sure it's bagged, but what I meant was the front wheel wells. See how high they built them up into the front door? They must have come up like 6". I guess its' no different than chopping out of the roof tho! lol

Thanks for the links Doug!
You are correct, have to be signed onto the HAMB site to view the pics.
With all the work that is going into the van with the new frame,I sure hope they get rid of the straight front axle.
Love Shadow's Econo! Brad

I found this in that link........

It’s been sub-framed, MII front clip, raised inner fender wells, crate 350 moved back and lowered some, 200R4, 9 inch rear, 50 pontiac tail lights, removed front turn signals (ribs extended) custom split front and rear bumpers, raised license surround, filled gas filler, hidden hinges (coming soon) etc etc.

what is a MII sub frame?

At least it has the "right" running gear......LOL

An early van in the Grand National Roadster Show. show is pretty neat.....
