I,m having some T-Shirts made and some other stuff. I,m looking for a cool cartoon type logo. I have seen some really good drawings that people have made here on Vannin. Cap,n Scurvy made some good ones and here is one from FroocH that I really like. Maybe I would just tweek that one a little bit. By the way, has anybody heard from frooch lately? I really am open for some more suggestions. I would like to see some more drawings if anyone has any more ideas, I would really like to see them. [Linked Image]

That drawing is really COOL! I love the wrinkled tires shift

Frooch is pretty active on Facebook. I'm not sure if he still lurks around these forums, but I bet he does grin

You could take off the mystery machine logo and put yours on here and get rid of the dog, or keep it if you want! [Linked Image]

Dave, why not use a similar one to the Scooby Doo Ratfink one but obviously using your van, swap the Scooby to a caricature of you with a big shit eatin grin (like you have after a good run)and swap out the skull gear shift to a laptop since thats what you have in yours. I think that pretty much nails you dead on. My sons a senior art major at a private school in Cincinnati. Maybe I could get him to take a crack at it.

Dave,my son wants to give it a crack, says he can do it. I just need a pic of your Shi* eating grin for a caricature of you hanging out the top like Rat Fink style if thats agreeable to you. Feel free to add any suggestions. He plans on using your real van colors and can even show it on a shirt. He designed the shirts and logo for my restaurant and painted a mural on the wall inside that everybody loves. Anybody with a good pic of Dave feel free to post it or email it to me at EconoUSAparts@fuse.net

Well who wouldnt like that one Wally? Now how bout a rear view ha-ha! But seriously I think one with more of a side profile would be better since thats the view he will probably use although after watching some you tube videos a front view of a wheelie aint all bad either.

Here is my Karson T shirt I have pretty much worn out. And here is a friends T shirt I also wore out. Very elaborate. He had them made by a Top Fuel race team. Wow. Dave my son is tweaking a drawing that I went over with him last night. He is going semi rat fink style but with you instead of the rat. He said the helmet would hide your details so he is drawing you with a bushy stash and shades instead. Like it or not,I think the idea suites you. Feel free to use it or alter it to your liking or ask him to modify it if you want something changed. He will scan it in tomorrow at school since my home computer took a nose dive. Im using the wifes laptop now.

Dave,
I can give you the contact info of the guy who did the artwork for my shirts. He is an old school vanner and continues to do airbrushing. I'm sure he would be glad to help you.

His name is Dave Burris and his number is 765-288-7590.

Keep on Truckin,

Karson

Ok,so I got these pics ready to post but dont know how to do it .It seems from what I read in the FAQ section they have to be on a site with url already which is way outta my league. Seems kinda odd not being able to post from a file on my computer but maybe im missing something.
Anyhow I sent it to Superbeast and hopefully he can get it posted for me. Remember its just a draft and can be modified as needed or desired. My son couldnt read the writing on the van so he just left it blank. I thought he was putting shades on Dave also but for whatever reason he didnt.

Tim, the reason why the pictures are done the way they are is so that www.vanning.com is not hosting every picture posted. It's fairly easy to post pics once you get used to it.

Anyway, without further ado, here are your pics.

Im glad everyone liked it. My sons name is Timothy John but we call him TJ. I ll tell him the positive response it generated. I personally cant draw sqwat. He used input from me and previous drawings posted to compile this. I ve seen a lot of his work and some is truly awsome but this is his first vehicle drawing so I didnt know what to expect. Needless to say Im happy with it. The flat tipped fingers are a staple in a lot of his drawings.
At least I know the small fortune Im paying out to the Cincinnati Art Academy is paying off.

Dave, when you go to print this the more colors you use the more it will cost. I ran into that when we printed the shirts he designed for my restaurant. My son wants to know what color shirt you'll use and what all colors you want on the artwork. I would assume the van will be blue with silver graphics, black for the tires, grille, and maybe even the smoke outline, maybe some grey to fill it in or whatever you want basically. After visiting your sight,(Im a huge Montrose,Sammy Hagar,Van Hagar fan)I wondered if you would like the logo for the "no 55" (circle with slash over 55) on there somewhere. Just a thought, maybe for a front license plate???? If he adds marker lights(body line too)then you,ve got those colors to deal with also. Sometimes ya gotta compromise to keep the cost low. My son likes to shadow stuff in too so that can make it look better. If you want you can shoot me an email with your number and I can call you to work out the details.

P.S.- You look pretty dapper in that personalized insignia shirt he drew you in:-) What style!!

Hello Ky-Tim. I really like TJs drawing. And I like Froochs drawing and I have a couple of ideas of my own. I got a hold af frooch once and he never got back to me. I just sent him another Email. I,m still waiting. I have a great T shirt guy waiting on me too. I don,t want to waste anyones time on this deal. Anyone involed in this will get free T shirts. From what I have seen so far, if you make a real elaborite drawing with a lot of detail it almost has to have a bunch of colors just to see it. I like to keep it simple that way, black and white is just fine with me and it saves me a bunch of money too. I need to update my website, its,s pretty old now. It still says I run 11s. Ha Ha. The shirts need to say.... JARVIS CUSTOM MACHINING HOME OF THE 9 SECOND CHEVY VAN! I can,t drive 55 is great idea. Please be patient, feel free to call me. Dave 734-721-8249. Happy new year to everyone at vanning.com!!! The greatest website on the internet!!!

Dave,I ll give you a call in the near future. I saw some new artwork of your design on a shirt drawing my son did recently. He still hasnt added any writing but it looks good on the shirt anyway. He put a somewhat large JP on the upper left chest area and the van on the back. I was snoopin so he doesnt know I saw it yet.
