The Dodge grouping has me a little cornfused. 71-77 Dodges are obviously pretty much identical, however the 78, which is a bastard year, pretty much shares nothing (except the nose) with the previous models. They actually have more in common with the 79-up vans.
Also 79-85 vans are pretty much the same, with the grill change amongst other things coming along in 86.
64-70 71-77 78-85 86-93 94-03
Not trying to step on any toes, but I was just providing an idea.
One more question. If someone showed up with a 2008 or 2009 Dodge/Chrysler minivan shouldn't they be in their own class? 2008 was the major facelift for the minivans.

I think the 78 Orphan looks more like a 77 with different corners than a 79 with a different front. And we are going to look at the Dodge Mini situation at c of c

The reason I included the 78 in with the 79-up crowd was because of some other body cues such as the dash, rear tailights, window sizes, etc.

There might not be any bodywork, but they are far from just bolt ons. I'm just trying to figure out how many I have now, so I don't step up by mistake. | | | Re: Van Classes | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 6,266 Vanner Extraordinaire | OP Vanner Extraordinaire Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 6,266 | The grill and boards do not count. Short seams, like at yhe top of the front wheelwells and the top of the front fenders, do not count, either. Emblems removed and hinge holes filled either. I'll get the next segment uop soon, with the descriptions of some of the changes and how they are counted.

When Howard classed me at the 36th Nats he said 6 body changes ... mild custom ..."looks like you knew what you were doing , getting the maximum amount of changes without jumping class" I said "yea, I did that" .. Damn rookie like me, I did not have a clue.. That was a complete accident.

This sucked majorly because my van was then judged agenst EVERY "classical" vehicle at the rally (ford, chevy, gmc, pannel truck, etc)
....i would have had a MUCH better chance @ winning something in the "street class (0 changes)" class as there arnt many dodges that fall into that 64-70 catagory. do have to but a pair of cheap rims that look shiny just to get the placement i want? heh
