wOW, just spent 2 hours scrolling thru this thread, there are some really cool old school vans in here, a lot of them I remember from truck ins and shows across the nation, some one asked about the gladiator van, yes it was destroyed by an accident and a fire, many years ago, I saw it after in a photo a friend showed me, he was a friend of the owner before he passed away, another van was asked about eight is enuff, it was owned by Slave Traveskie out of los angeles, he rolled with Bon Ton vans for a while, he also worked with/for Vinnie Bergman van customizer, it also was destroyed, a lot of the older customs went away in tragic accidents, I was and am really happy to see infinite surf going to get restored, that was an iconic van in its day, and hopefully will be soon again...keep the old pics coming...

That really bums me out to hear about Eight is Enough. That van started out as Alien, and I kind of liked it better before the reinvention. Such great work. Do you know any details about what happened to that van? I've got a horrifyingly long list of amazing vans, and their tragic endings

not to clear on the details, I heard about it from an old friend "big hamm" he was the president of Bon Ton vans out of los angeles, this was in the mid 1990's when I talked to him last, it just happen to come up I passing conversation, he asked if I had heard what happened to slave's van, then he said it was destroyed, didn't say how thou...

What happened to all these old vans?
Collectors? Showrooms or melted down with all the old caddys and monzas?
