There will definitely be a trip to MO in my future... we can meet in ND and caravan!

Actually, I have met "Mr. and Mrs. Elbows" from near KC, and then OnTheRoad has ties down there too... club or no club, MO for the May Long Weekend has to happen in the next two years.

A Hercules... I bet vervepipes can hook us up!

Hmmmm Whap has parked the Harley, so it's about time he posted the 2009 Flyer for Spring Fever on Vantasia's site lol

Actually Saskatoon to SF is only 200 miles farther from Sask than Burlington...Go figure !

Elbows near KC--have they moved in the last week---hee hee
they are actually about 5 hours from there, but in the bigger pic of things, I guess that is 'near KC' for those way up north!

Really, tho, if you make the effort and time to visit on the trip it really is a lot of fun! C'mon down and stick around for the MidWest Vans eVANt the weekend after in IL!!
We love the KC truck-in and want to go every year--just not always on the schedule.

Well, Vantasia happens in KC, right (I believe on Canadian May Long Weekend)? MVL has a run on the American May Long Weekend, so yeah... ,we are supposed to get down there for that sometime... Gary & Jean said so! Probably want more Saskatchewan beer!

"Prairie Schooners" was mentioned by VintAGE-Vans user haakaawi (sp?) that could work...

Not sure if I told y'all in so many words, but since my brother gave me the Cavalier when I was broke and jobless, and since he's had the hots for the Fargo from the time I found it, I'm giving it to him. We'll do bodywork on both earlies together... I'll take charge on welding, and him on carpentry... plus I'll have someone I can cruise with. So at the very least, there will be two vanners shaking things up in Saskatoon!

It's New Years Eve day, and I have an update on the club plans...

The feedback I've received so far shows a pretty even split between the interest in wrenching, camping, travelling and showing with our vans. I am strongly leaning towards the simple club name "Prairie Vanners", as it appears that the name should not limit the intended activities that the club would promote.

I have decided on a logo concept that represents the prairie region without bias or prejudice to any potential members... I'm having a logo designed to characterize an A-100 van as a bison / buffalo in the style of the characters in the movie Cars!

The club name would appear in a retro font above, with the member location (maybe city, maybe province or state) patched below similar to the style of bike clubs' chapter designations. The logo will initially be used online and for bumper / window stickers.

When I get the proofs back, I'll be sure to share it with you. As promised, a van club in our region is more than just a dream today... it will come!

Thanks,

Corey

I like the ideas and can't wait to see them. "Prairie Vanners" sounds like a good name.
