I had last week off from Grand Pap duties .I wanted to get more done but I work way tooo slow........LOL
All in all I got stuff done on both vans so it was not a bad week.
I had a couple of bubbles in my new flange I was not happy with.So out comes some more metal working tools to fix that problem....

I cut the Mat into small strips to make it easy to handle upside down.......

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

I got a coat of resin and mat on the back half of franken flare.....

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

I am hoping that applying the resin and the mat in this manner it will help these flares to hold there shape a little better and give me a better mounting edge......

Got a coat of primer rolled onto the hood chunk. This is to keep it from rusting up untill I start messing with it some more......

I also wanted to show that you can used decent paint materials and apply with a roller if you don't have spay equipment

It was like Christmas in August here on Sunday.
I got my Master Bedroom project done and now I can start getting van stuff done again.....

Nate stopped by with a big box of parts that I was in need of.
I was working on coverting the Beast of Burden over to an Early 3rd gen resto mod.
Nate brought me the parts so I can finish this off on the 89.
Ford engeneers working for GM complacated this mod a little bit.
The plastic push ins have to be rewmoveed so the earier tail light base will set flush in the hole.
A small notch needs to be cut in the gusset in thew hole also.Or the original mounting stud needs to be cut off....

The stainless trim rings fit snugly in place...

[Linked Image]

once the lenses are bolted into place the flanges on the trime rings will hold evey thing in.

[Linked Image]

I will need to come up with a set of the "clip nuts" and the right machine screws to hold every thing in place.....

you will also need the original plugs/wiring from the mid 70's tail light bases...

I also got a sweet set of Beuville markers for this van ....

Man I love my Chevys........
A big thank you goes out to Nate for the sweet deal on these parts.........
