Anyone know where I can get bushings and parts for this apparatus? It's almost impossible to put this thing into gear.

SV1:
Try finding a copy of VW TRENDS or HOT VW magazine. They usually have them at the grocery store. You should be able to find all you need in there, mailorder.
hope this helps,

OK!!! That's awesome. I'm trying to get my friend's camper on the road. Very helpful guys. I really don't want to have to make this stuff.

On Route 66 in Bethany Oklahom...
are you needing the coupler at the tranny end, or the shifter rod bushing that is under the shifter? the rod bushing that hides under the floor in the shifter tunnel (for lack of a better term) is only like 1.95 at most any after market VW shop, the rear bushing, at the tranny, is like 15.00 so neither not a bad purchase, and both FAIRLY easy to install, at least on a bug...and bus/van not much worse. I do not have the name handy, but in HOT VWs magazine, there is a bus only shop that advertises in the front half of the mag....BFI or something like that...good luck!
