Called and asked if he had a wiper cowel for a late Ford, Nope. However, he said he's had several requests for one so he's thinking about going to junk yard and getting a front end to look into making one.

on a deloreon they were stainless
Hank has one that someone PAINTED red and crashed
finding a door for one can be some huge bucks to find
so he decided to make his own out of fiberglass
on a van a gull wing door would weigh half of what a pair of
a pair of steel doors welded together or converted slider

I look forward to him getting a website up, want to see more of the stuff he makes.
I'm after a Norcal rear spoiler, and hood scoop. I like the ones trucknvans do, but still keeping my options open.
Got my flares from trucknvans, and their shop is an hour from the Kiwi base camp, for getting to NZ.
So same would apply to anything I got from Hank, just have to get it to Kiwi base camp in Cali.
Also have been considering gull winging my slider.

Just in case hank still needs delorean door.. actually still available..

http://www.delorean.com/stainlessrepair.asp

happened to remember seeing this site years ago when i had an opprotunity to buy my own delorean. Couldn't come up with the mere 6,000 to make the purchase. (yeah.. it was pretty abused for that price)

Yeah..... I know I know.... It's NOT a van... But if you squint, It could be a REALLY long van?

that body you are in is the new body of pat summa who owns/drives THRASHER on the monster jam circuit. he is sponsored by wallingford toyota and lives around that area. he also has a landscaping business in the area. if not mistaken one of the wallingford toyota monster trucks is a new toyota but its the real body and just a display truck.

I'm pretty sure Hanks answer will be if you pay for the mold, He'll make anything you want.

That's what Spider told me years ago when I asked him if he could make Gullwings for the new style Fords.

This being said he told me that it would prolly cost around $5k to make a mold. That is why my gullwing and clamshell are all steel!

Thats a good reason. It would be worthwhile if you had a handful of vanners that all wanted the same part, IE. a f/g gull. Then everyone chips in and cuts the cost down.

Hank doesn't have a website, best advice for anyone interested is give em a call direct
also keep in mind his business.. is alot of diff business's
so don't be thrown off if the phone greeting is for a porto pot company or the like...
he makes those too....

Does Showcars have anything in particular that Frank doesn't ? It is way past time that we get Showcars on our side. Please pm me all the problems you have had with Showcars and Doc and I will pay them a friendly visit once he gets back from his latest tour. We're also going to be trying to get another person up here who has fiberglass molds on the right track. It sure would be nice to get all the molds in the hands of a vanner friendly person like Hank.
It would be good if we had a list of the inventory of molds that each of the fiberglass makers have. I would be happy to put that on the showvans site. It would be good for business as well for people like Hank who does not have a website.

i know of no problems with showcars other than
lack of communication (from what i've heard over and over from vanners)
showcars once called me though and asked for Hanks number lol ... not sure what that was about but i gave it to em and asked that they stay in contact
... they never have and the last time i talked to hank they didn't call him either...

Unfortunatly..... I am being bruatally honest here.....
I think It's the lack of business more than any thing else.
One or two sets of flares a visor or a door or two a year is just not enough work to keep ether of these guys making products for vans.
Even with the molds making these parts is very labor intesive. Not to mention the rising cost of materials....

True Steve. I don't know if anyone has molds for them any more tho. No visor for mine tho. If I go with some sort of spoiler, OR? it will most likely be steel tho. I like metal lol

i was in the neighborhood friday so i stopped in to see Hanks new place .. it's huge! and a much better neighborhood than his last location ;)
Hank was on the road, but i hung out with his son a little while, hooked em up with a magazine and an nevc guide
sounds promising we may see them at a CT event this season
(i hope!)
and i requested that they get a "list" of the van stuff they offer so it can be shared here online
once again... as always.. they say HI
and if you need ANYTHING ya call em !
(there was a vanner on the phone while i was there with a very long shopping list! ..very cool ! )

There are a number of vans with metal flares. One of the most popular ways to do them was to build a frame out of 1/2" electrical conduit and then cover with sheet metal.

Now we're talking fun stuff! grin

I was wondering , I heard a rumor that hank had the old J&J molds and I would very much like to find out who has them . The spoiler for the dodges for the mid '80s were cut from my van and I really would like to have a spare or two.

I admire anyone that can work in that itchy crap. My brother works on 'vettes some and is good with glass but not at this kind of level. I prefer good ole steel, I guess it's what you learn to work with. The last time I mixed up an 'glass was to patch a soft spot in the floor,,,,of my bathroom! I am torn between flares, visor and such and running clean. Both ways look really good when done properly. I guess I need two vans huh?

Yea that's a sweet van. With those flares you have to have some really big tires in the back so they don't get swollowed up.
I also found out that the holes in the front spoiler are to let air pass through for the brakes.(Nascar style!)
I always thought that lights went there. lol

The holes in the spoiler are for air to cool the brakes but it is acceptable to run some light there if anyone does there is still enough airflow around the lights to serve the purpose. I have run fogs there in the past and still might again. I think it's a good place and never had a problem with brakes when I had lights down there. ...Just dont tuck them in real tight...lol

I wonder if he can make the front flares like this Dodge has. Notice it is subtly wider and has a dipped in curve to it.

And the rear flares on this Ford.

I know I'd need custom made to get them.

Man, I'm really tires. I was so enthralled by it I never took notice to it being a Chevy.

The rear custom lights reminded me of Ford ones. Never looked at the nose.

I gotta get some sleep.

That sounds like a GREAT idea bow

I just got off the phone with Hank. Best to call his cell number. He is still making parts for older vans. Not attending any more shows but will make up whatever you want. Nothing for the newer vans. Anyway i plan on going up to seeing him next month.

Don't know just yet, tumbleweed. If I end up with another van, the next one will be a '98 (I think) Express. Don't know exactly what I'd like to do with it...need to get it here and give that some more thought. I have a few ideas! lol

And thanks for the info. about Mark at Crazy Customs in WV. This is them? Van Crazy Customs I see a lime green 4th gen right there on their home page!
