I was looking at 18 in rims for my 2003 dodge ram conversion,tire are available are 255 to 285 do I want to get same size tire for all 4 Or can i run bigger in rear,or is that bad for a new vanwhat sizes should i run?thanks in advance.what backspacing is for a newer dodge?thanks.

This will help you to measure for the propper wheel size to fit your van. Yes, you can run larger on the rear. The only time you need to keep the same sizes is when dealing with a 4x4 or an all wheel drive.

Different sizes, front to rear, may upset the antilock brakes. Just keep that in mind. You can juggle widths and aspect ratios to retain the same diameter but still get the big/little look.

As 4x42b said, you should try to stick to the same outer diameter as stock. It greatly simplifies things and eliminates the problems with modern electronic systems.

What size are your stock tires?

thanks for all the replys,superbeast i agree with the look im trying to get 15x10 for the back of my 65 chevy for that reason!I may hold off now but down the road for the rims for the 03 odge ,that money can get the 65 on the road,but i will get/fix p the 03 though.thanks again.
