In the 1970's and 80s, me and my brother had a small junk yard of cars on the 150 acre farm I grew up on. We started out buying wrecked or cars that usually had the motors or transmissions bad on them. Most of the first cars we got were to supplement parts for our own vehicles. When we started realizing how much money we could make parting out vehicles and the items left in the vehicles, we started buying other cars and trucks and parting out. Back than, you could usually buy a vehicle for under $100. At one time I had 5 Mid-Dodges setting on the farm. One of them, had severe front-end damage, I paid $200 for it, took the parts I wanted, ended up selling the mag wheels and tires for $150, stereo system for $100, the motor for $200, tranny for $75, plus some other interior accessories for a few dollars. The van had the Street Van emblems and that was the main thing I wanted.
