Trying to decode this engine and parts that came out of the van. Back story was the original owner replaced the original L6 engine with a 350 from a local dirt track car. No further info aside from that is known. So if I'm decoding these numbers correctly, it looks like I have the following as a base to build down the road:

1973 Chevy Nova L65 145HP 350 block
3970010 casting number / 13W179585 & V1221CKW stamped in the block pad in front of the passenger head

1980-86 Chevy 305 53cc heads
14022601 casting number and what appears to be a C/3 cast underneath. March 1983?

1971 350 cast iron Rochester 4bbl intake
Casting number 3973469 GM2

If these numbers are correct, we will probably be replacing the heads with 350 heads, as I'm not a fan of 305 heads on a 350. They are usually a fine motor for a short dirt track as they will produce more low end torque, but they tend to fall off in the upper RPM horsepower. I have a few sets of heads to dig through and see what would be best if any.
