No. The model is "Carter BBD." What you would be looking for, if it was still there, is a little red or green stamped tin tag that was put on one of the screws that holds the air horn to the main carb body. Finding these tags is a VERY rare event these days as they were very thin and usually broke off or were discarded the first time the carb was rebuilt.

All you have to do is make sure you use gaskets that match the holes in the carb body.

A 1976 BBD will have a brass float, but a failing float will not cause the problems you describe.
