Summer is here and Vanna White (1992 Dodge B250) is going on a long road trip next month, into climates where some more creature comforts would be nice to have. The A/C never blew cold since we got her, and has been a low/non-priority on the van to-do list.
It's the stock R12 system, which probably hasn't been serviced in a long time. My mechanic says it may need to be completely replaced to convert to R134, etc. That seems excessive to me..... my google-fu found this, it sounds like this guy just did minimal stuff to get it switched over, would this work for me?https://www.2carpros.com/questions/dodge-truck-1986-dodge-truck-r12-to-r134a-refrigerant-conversions
I've also seen some basic kits out there that are just new fittings, and a new receiver/drier, etc.....
I'm shooting in the dark here, anyone been down this road?
