I know from experience that an 8 inch rim on a 1977 Chevy Van G10 the tire will rub and chew up a low profile 50 series tire.
Now I am not sure about a newer G10 like yours, if they changed the spring rate over the years or not.
"Back in the day" we generally switched out the G10 springs for G20 springs and they never rubbed. Luckily my current 1977 G10 has "heavy duty springs" front and rear which are the G20 spring rate.
