I need to make some new ones, they are all 2 years old, I've heen taking pics of other things.
I'll post some of mine on sunday, I was cleaning and detailing today
And Presenting the One and Only: "Econo-Bar!"
I love that bar!! Thanx again for sharing that.
My van needs cleaned up, inside and out, but at temps of 100 degree's, we haven't done anything with it. I also only take pics with the right settings, background is important, I'm looking for the one that has a rainbow ending on the van, you could say it's at rainbows end, or is the pot of gold.
Ok! Here's one
Nice pics Ken. have any recent ones of the clamshell doors in action?
That bar is right on. Love it!
-Chris
Thanks for the compliment Chris! Here's one for you!
Welcome aboard Chris! Took them off for now Cap'n. Need to do lots more work on them. Will probably get back out to working on them after Butler.
O. You are forgiven then.
how do you go about posting a picture in the thread page ?
You need to open an acount with a photo sharing site such as
www.photobucket.com They are free to use.
Upload the picture to that site. Copy and paste the bottom link under the picture on that site to your reply here and your done.
Try to size the picture first so as that it is not too big or small.
O.K. Here's is the Ford....
Hope you like it, Still have a way to go...
That thing is in awesome shape. Nice van dude.
-Chris
HEY WE STILL GOTTA POST OUR PICS GUYS
Looks good Maples. What happend to the stuff (graphics?) on your front fender?
I learned, never put on fine decals, they start to peel up, dirt sticks in their place , once they start coming up, it's time to remove them. It was also time to go, started getting tired of looking at them, been gone over a year, just haven't upgraded my pictures. When I pulled them, I stripped the finish, clay bared it and layed on many coats of polish and wax. I want to get some fenders from a van the same color in the salvage yard and front doors to replace the dented up ones, they are bad shape, future project.
NICE VANS CHRIS HEY GUYS WE GOTTA KEEP THE POST UP ON THIS THREAD
Here is my 74.
I need to take some updated pictures.

I'll jump in:
Here's BUMPY! The IRON VAN!
84 E-150, 351W H.O./C-6. Loaded except for power windows (good!), conversion by Landmark (duh).
My brother totalled this van by running a red light and driving it into the side of a Tri-Met bus down in Portland, Oregon. So I had it hauled back up to Tacoma, chopped off the bent front frame rails, scored a 75 parts van and welded Bumpy back together (thats why it has the early grille etc...)
I recently scraped Bumpy's passenger side up pretty good taking a corner too close in a parking garage, so Bumpy is now slated for a full cosmetic restoration/modification! Paint and interior will be redone and mildly customized.

I uploaded a bunch of new images to my CarDomain page.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2056011
At the scrap yard last week, you could shed a tear, there was an early 70's Econoline in the pile of vehicles, top was smashed in to about mid high, still had the grill on it. The way it looked, I didn't see any rust at the bottom of it, may have been a decent van, there was a later 70's Econo on top of it crunched too.
Great candidate for a chop top.
I like your antenna shot Brandon!
I finally got my Ford in the signature line
o.k. now i can be on here as well LOL
WOW! That thing looks clean. Good luck with it!
thanks Ken I was looking at the pick of the Beast the door is great nice work...
Thanx Harold. Don't do it to that van tho. Unless you fing fiberglass doors. The full size door is very heavy and it's a bitch getting it to work right.
Ken if you saw my welding skill you would know i would never even try to do that LOL. no the body on this one will stay stock going to do the body work and paint it thats all.
my welding skills were pretty bad when I started too, practice makes better!
Ken what is a good welder to buy ? for a small shop like i have.I'm setting up my shop at this time I had a old Lincolen ark welder but i gave it away it was on a tralier and to big for the shop. I would like to weld traliers and such with it small and big stuff ids there a good all around welder out there ? thanks for info..
There are lots of good welders out there. The one I have is huge. Got a great deal on it, and it will weld nearly anything.
The biggest thing I guess to keep in mind is to try and stay with a good brand name like Miller or Lincoln. They have been making welders forever and are probably the easiest to get supplies for. Although most supplies are universal. Wookie has a real nice Lincoln he let me borrow for a while. He is a retired professional welder. He may be able to give you a good model number.
Another thing to look for is expandability. In the future you may want to weld aluminum or othe metals, you may want to do some TIG welding. If possible try and get a unit that can be adapted at a later time do weld other metals.
Here's my 87 150 that used to be a wheelchair van for my grandma. Needless to say, it didn't look like this whe it was hers
.http://www.angelfire.com/planet/dinovan/my_van/
so this yours or your grandma's van if yours fix it up

Hi guys, been a while. Thought I'd drop in and see what's up.
Still enjoying the heck out of our van. Here's an old shot of mine on the left (white) and my buddy's 4 WD Super Duty. That thing can go practically anywhere!
The van's mine, they needed to get rid of it, I needed transportation, worked out for a great deal since I got it for only $600 and it has needed no major repairs to date (knock on wood.)
so dinovan where in kansas you from iam in wichita srating up a van culb here so far i have 2 members hoping more will join and want too have a lil get together in april 2007 out at lake afton
I'll have to see, I'm from the Wichita area, but I'll be at college then about 4 hours away.
Anyone know where to buy a Starter relay for a '63 Econoline with the 170cu motor
Autozone, it's just a starter relay, not model specific, found that out last month.
here's a cool window
Below is our '94 E150 "Space Shuttle" all decorated for Halloween 2005. It actually made the
Car & Driver Weird Sightings page.
that is cool! great idea for a halloween parade! or to show at a Van event!!!
That's wild, well thought out.
Much better than one of my past Halloween costumes. I tied a rope off to the rear of my white 81 Dodge in college and went as a tampon.
I thought it was a laugh riot.
okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
My 69 Mid Ford
I Purchased her in the Fall of 1982.
Sweet '69. I love that body style.
Those are two serious mids. But the blue with Cragars is the one.
*drool* Oh my God those are awesome vans. I like the red one (probably because I like the late-style grille).
One day...one day a mid-Ford I shall have.
Here are the 2 that I own.
1969 Pop-top - all original, 42K miles
1974 Quadravan - all original
Here are some I've owned in the past.
I guess I like the driver's sides better!
Chris
*drool* Oh my God those are awesome vans. I like the red one (probably because I like the late-style grille).

I thought the differences in the two grills was this:
The blue van has the steel grill that was chrome plated, and the red van has the aluminum grill center section only. I could be wrong, but I didn't know Ford had different designs for later models, just the choice between steel and aluminum. Anyody know for sure?
Chris
Emievel Looks like U 2 have a thing for 4x4 vans! I can totally relate! that 74 quadravan that U still own is super sweet!
Well I'll add my 76 E150...Metamorphosis...
Hey Guys,
Who owns those two mid's? (Blue and Red). That Blue one is amazing!Well they both are, but...
I'm looking to buy one very soon and that's exactly what I want! Anyone else have one similar?
Blue and red mid, sounds like John, Quiet one. I'm sure he won't sell, but there are quite a few mids showing up on here. Check the classifieds section.
Found a couple in my area, just not quite right. White one on
www.collectorcartraderonline.com (too much) considering it would take another 5000 to get it the way I want. And another that needs too much work. I'm not quite ready to buy, but I'm checking every day.

No problem, I'm glad somebody could use them. I was gonna give the door strap to the guy with the full custom with the pinto window in the back, but he wasn't around when I went walking. Can't remember his name, was it Spaceman?
And congrats to Courtney on her trophy, I think she was the happiest vanner who recieved one. I hope I got her name right, I met so many people...

What do you use to strip the paint to the bare metal? Im always curious.
Nice mid Ford, all owners need to get the windshield gasket replaced by a pro, there is a flaw in them from the factory, Ford put spongy material in it that causes rot in the passenger lower corner.
I like that, what is the hood from? Looks like a modified Ambulance hood ?
I like that, what is the hood from? Looks like a modified Ambulance hood ?
I think that was one of Hanks designs. I know lots of vans had them years ago.
Yeah its all fiber glass i picked it up at the nats 2yrs ago for 2 bills

Thanks. And how did you know I had a leaky windshield gasket?! LOL. The first thing I did when I bought it was silicone it up to stop the leaks.

Like I said, Ford put foam in the gasket, it aids in the future leak to totally destroy the frame, glad the shop that did mine had experience.
Not sure yet the van is stripped and getting preped for paint yeahhhhh ill keep you posted
Here is an older pic of my Ford.
Finally got my mom working on going through their old pictures and she took some digital pics of these old prints. The first is from around 1974 and the next is about 1978. The subject vehicle is our 1972 E100 window van ordered new and picked up in autumn 1971, which my dad made into a camper that slept all 6 of us (at the size some of us were, that was possible!). In the second picture you can see we'd added some aftermarket sliding windows on the left side. This van was about the cheapest, bare bones, stripper model you could get, except for the 302, windows, and of course, the sliding door. No other options.
Heres mine the day I got it home and off the trailer:
Sweet van Daryl. That looks really clean in and out.
Sweet van Daryl. That looks really clean in and out.
Its fairly clean considering the age. Inside needs a good steam bath, and outside needs a toothbrush to all the seams. Standard WA state green slime growing everywhere. (You cant let rigs sit under fir trees in this state for more than a week).
Very little rust that I can find on the body, and just one big dent on the drivers side from a trailer accident by the previous owner.
Needs all the window seals replaced, and I think door seals also, and the captains chairs arms are all really loose.
Oh, and *ALL* of the suspension rubber is shot, good thing bronco parts are cheap hahaha.
nice van! i like the backward facing capn chairs.
draggin , they are not permenant , they are called swivel pedestals . they are illegal now in the newer vans , i forget what years they stopped them , but you find them in most retro custom vans .
The new Dodge Caravan has them from second row back. The only reason they became illegal was seat belt laws. If the seat belts are integrated int the seats (as the new Caravans are) then the seats and swivel bases are legal.
Installing seats from another vehicle in your van is a whole other
Ya, all 4 captains swivel, and all 4 have seatbelts. Even the rear bench/bed has belts (but they are not pulled thru the hinge area in the picture.
The driver seat doesnt really swivel anymore, as the four wheel drive lever is in the way. I havnt played with it a ton to see if I pull it back into 4-lo if that moves the lever enough out of the way.
Ive decided that for as little "heavy" towing I will be doing with it, I'll just go to 33" all-terrain tires instead of trying to make an overdrive setup work. I'll look for a powerstroke 6.0 trans cooler for it too. They are awesome! But they cost as much as I paid for the entire van.
A cargo basket for the roof, with front and rear HIDs and I'll be stylin'
I rebuilt a Pathfinder for a couple and I cut their shifter off and made the two halves thread together just above the rubber boot. This way they could leave the handle off and swivel the seats and screw on the handle when needed.
Here's my rig...
Lots of good looking Fords here.

I was gonna suggest that, as it's what I'd do, heck, my CJ-5 in 2wd the handle wasn't more than 4" off of the floor.
The Machine had to be moved to a different shop. The other was to pricey for me.Do you vanners remember Bob Gorske Road studio back in the day.Bob ended up with cancer a few yrs back and had to take a leave of work.He has not touched a van since Roger Moyles Sinsational ""orange chevy with the tiger on the back""Also did a van called Naturally Art Bondage from pioneer valley vans.I'm trying to come up with some paint ideas.maybe still incorporate the heartbeats.
