Ya bet yer ass we're gonna party that week! I've got a room just inside the main front door (by the indoor park and restaurants) and I'm planning on putting the BAR in there. See ya there!!

Sounds great Tequila!! Lookin forward to it, the Party's on!!!
You goin to the Nats?
Doc & Eddie will have a fundraiser this coming weekend at SS11 and also all of the information you need about the event in Feb. I hope to see everyone from the Northeast at the CofC this year. They have a spot on vendors row.
Gee It's Quite here. It is coming into Fall now in our Area. Can we see Who here is making the Trip so far?
Not sure yet any updates?
Hoping to. Will see how things pan out.
Book Your Room Today for 2013 C of C
Booked flights today, Chicago to Boston 160.00 round trip.
$160.00, great deal Ed !!! If you are planning on going Southwest seems to have some major deals $75 each way from Buffalo for example. Better book soon.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, even if it was free airfare
. But I did see my NEVC pals back in August.
Room Booked, Checking on flights, and Train. Also checking on a Charter Bus if we can get enough SOVC going to make it feasable.
Smitty that would be a fun ride ride up with everyone. Make stops along the way to pick up PA-NJ etc. Then we can take the bus to Boston and wreck havoc. See you then! O
Ok,still planning on making this trip.
Unfortunately I will have to make it in a non Van.
Pretty sure my late model will not be ready for that trip.
My early has NEVER been driven in the salt and NEVER will be.
Alternative vehicle will be used......
........Wookee
As long as you make it! See you then and we will have a blast.
I will be there one way or another.
Well, crap...one of my favorite areas of the country...I had to leave my van in Wisconsin last week...blew up the radiator and not sure what else, so...the empty wallet isn't helping...The end of the year is approaching and it looks like my income is going to be down about $40,000 from the last couple years...working with the bands and stuff helps, but not that much...
Any chance of getting picked up at the train station in either Westwood, MA or Providence, RI??
Bud,
I am checking with Doc & Eddie. They are on Facebook more than on here promoting the CofC.
O
Please go to the site for information and let them know what information you would like to see or receive.
www.councilofcouncils.com
There is a train station @ 1 mile from the hotel. I am planning on taking a train from Rensselaer NY to there.
Think I'll jump on the train with some Bad Girls and party there.
We are definitly taking the train. It looks like we have eight going from Rochester. Just have to book the hotel now.
Hey I got a call from Tequila, he left a msg regarding C of C but no return phone #. If anyone can get a hold of him ask him to call me back, please
Dr. Bob I don't see the train station at 1 mile away that you mentioned...do you know where it is??
I looked these up on the AMTRAK site and Mapquested the distances:
Providence, RI, 100 Gaspee St. 20.76 miles approx 26 minutes
Westwood, MA, 50 University Ave. 16.41 miles approx 19 minutes
Does this help Johnny O??
The train station that is 1 mile from the hotel is the MBTA commuter line. If you check ground transportation from either Airport they have the routes listed. The Hotel says on their website that their shuttle will pick you up from the MBTA commuter rail station. I think the commuter line runs from the AMTRAK stations also.
BaD gIRL joanne wrote "We get off at Framingham Mass. about 25 miles from the hotel.Need a volunteer to pick us up. Maybe two. Lets have a whole car full of vanners!"
Right you are, Smitty!! I did a little more research (after I posted here, DOH!!) and found that the MBTA does run from Providence to Mansfield.
So, it'll be AMTRAK to Providence, MTBA to Mansfield, Shuttle to hotel!!
Very cool!!
Smitty, Bud, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. (I forgot ya had a landline instead of a cell-phone, Bud, and my number probably didn't show upon it)
Johhny-O and I talked about this at Getaway's Halloween party Saturday, and I told him I'd get back to ya. Kenny St. Onge and I talked about this about 10 days ago. It seems that if you're flying into Green airport in Providence, that you can take the MBTA commuter train right into Mansfield, and there is a shuttle bus available to take you to the hotel. I'm going to PM you with my number and some more info, so you can get back to me if you need to.
Catch ya later, Tequila
I posted information about how to get to the hotel via commuter rail from TF Green Airport, Boston South Station, and Logan Airport per Doc's request on the event's Facebook page and on the official website for the event. Please feel free to contact me with any questions 860-719-4898.<3 Miss Amy

Us New England Vanners are crazy..come seek asylum with us!!
http://www.councilofcouncils.com/My boyfriend and I are planning a day trip into Boston the Saturday of the event to visit Quincy Market, The Freedom Trail, the North End, and the Rose Kennedy Greenway. I used to live in Boston so I know all the best places to go. If you are interested in joining me and Eric on our excursion let me know.
I am thinking of a couple of trips on Thursday or Friday myself. Let the board know of all ideas you may have out there.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again,
O
MrsHoney and I planning to go to Boston, to Faniel hall and legal seafood while we are there. Quincy market clam chowda yum yum.
Just booked our room and flight. We'll be there Thursday afternoon, can't wait! YeeHaw!! Seeya there Kooba & Marilyn.
So Doc has given me the task of searching for Van council logos for all of the councils participating in the event. If you have a jpeg image for your local council's logo, please message it to me here. Thanks!!!
Need to update the CofC website. Not alot going on there.
Not everyone is on FB.
I agree 100% I will seeing the vanners running the CofC this weekend so if anyone has any questions let me know and I will work on getting you answers.
Brad, Johnny, I'll find out who's doing the website updates tomorrow at our annual Truckin' For Tots run. Pretty much everybody who's involved in the C. of C. will be there, and I'll mention it to Doc about the updates.
So Doc has given me the task of searching for Van council logos for all of the councils participating in the event. If you have a jpeg image for your local council's logo, please message it to me here. Thanks!!!
I have the NCVC logo
can not attach a jepg file to PM message
Billo
Just attach the same way you would in the forums. Load the picture into photobucket and copy the image file and paste it in the PM box.
Speaking of updates why hasn't any one posted on the Council website if your coming and when your arriving?
Don't seem to be any updates for this!
I thought there was a thread for 2013, sorry. fixing that.
Everyone needs to bring their loudest craziest Hawiian shirts for being around the pool. I will have The Crusher with me as well and you all can have some but only if you have a loud shirt on!
Just packed my loud shirt!!! Don't want to miss out on the Crush!!!
I'm planning on having 3 or 4 Gals of Apple Pie. Just got to figure out the best way to get it there. Since we're flying I won't be able to bring it with me. Probably ship it!
Woo Hoo Apple pie
I so wanted to make this but do not have the money for a room. Can drive there in a couple hours. Really hate missing it and do not feel like sleeping in the parking lot.
Smitty, If you can get it to me I will drive it up!
That might be an option John. PM me your address.
Plane tickets bought, already had room reserved, We're ready!! See ya all on the 6th
Not looking too good at this point. I have cash for a ticket, but not enough for a room or much else...anyone need a roommmate that can't pay his half?
Howard I would consider it but the wife would not appreciate it. Hopefully you find someone and get a chance to make it out to New England.
Have the Council Rep packets been sent out yet?
Still looking for someone who will split a room. I can't pay my half til I get my tax refund...probably late March. I did sell enough stuff on E bay to cover my plane ticket. Only 225 bucks round trip...Help! thanks
Wish we could help Howard, but we're going to have 5 in our room as it is!
Smitty,
I will see Doc and Eddie this weekend and I will mention that you are looking for the information. If anyone else has any needs let me know and I will transfer the information.
Thanks John, but I already heard back from Doc. We're all good!
Thanks for the reply though. See ya in a few weeks, looking forward to it!
Still working on the apple pie situation. May be able to have someone carry it out there. Shipping to you still an option?
Thanks
Smitty

Tempted to take you up on this Howard. I really can not afford to go but want to. There are a couple double rooms left at $89/night. I would be driving up. I was not able to make Freezeout like I wanted to this weekend so I may have money to do this. Still doing Motorama the next weekend so it does make for a bit of a tight schedule.
OK, Phil, let me know...tried to Pm you...it's full...I get in Thursday Pm, so 3 nites...should be less that 150 per each.

Two weeks away! Looking forward to see the vanners from around the country! Anyone interested in taking the train into Boston on Thursday?
We will probably pass that train on our way in on Thurs!
See you all then!
Maybe we can wave going by! See you in a few weeks! O
I will wave back!!!
hee hee I just read the list of those attending..I noticed there are 3 Connies and only 2 me. I think I will be needing one more me!! hee hee
Johnny, we already talked about Thursday night (or afternoon) at the NEVC meeting. I'm definitely planning a trip into Boston on Friday morning. Gonna take the #814 train out of Mansfield at 10:12 AM and be in South Station at 10:57. We'll take the Red Line subway from there. Probably gonna require people to meet in the hotel lobby sometime right after 9 AM. I'll have a shuttle trip set up from the hotel to the train in time to get us to the station about 10 min. early, so we can get our tickets ahead of time. I'll be at the hotel (maybe Wednesday Noon, depending on weather) but definitely Thursday Noon, and I'll be looking around to see who wants to go with me.
Smitty,
What do you need to make the Apple Pie? I'm not far from the venue and would be willing to get some ingredients for it on my way up.
Sounds great and I will talk to you next week when I get there. It would be a blast if we can get a bunch of us to go!
Just checked fares on the MBTA. Round-trip to Boston should be $17.50, plus about $12.50 for subway passes, so figure $30.00 for transportation.
And Tequila's birthday present!!
Amy
It's all taken care of.
Coop's bringing it out for me.
I dropped it off at his house Sat.
Thanks for the offer though.
See ya on Wed around 1:30
Smitty
Oh Yeah we'll have 4 Gallons
Yes in deed Smitty! Just got off the phone with a vanner near NH that is picking up the crush ingredients. May be looking to go on the Sam Adams tour now on Friday. Does anyone know the cost for the bus?
Also don't forget your club and council banners!
From what Doc put on FB the cost is about $10 to $12 for the Sam Adams trip.
Oh and I will be looking you up for some Apple Pie so don't run out too quick. lol
I don't think we're doing the Sam Adams tour, but we'll be doing some sight seeing. Possibly rent a van or something.
Shouldn't run out too quick Phil I'll have 4 Gals there. But you never know LOL!!
Tequila where are you planning on going with the train/subway tour??
Well, we had hoped to come up, even if only for a day or two, but Kyrstin has a Winter Guard competition on Sunday in Pittsburgh that we had planned to work around, but this morning when I went out to go to work our Nitro was Repossessed! So now we need to scrape whatever we can together to try and get it back, so there will be no funds to make the trip. I just can't seem to catch a break!
Wow, Sorry to hear that Ken! That sucks!!!
Good Luck!! Sorry we won't see you guys!
We'll see ya at the Nats if not before!!

I plan on going on the tour. Hoping my plans work for that. I will be looking you up Smitty for some AP. Or you can look for me. Fat gimpy old man. lol
Smitty I just seen the Moonshiner show and they were making Apple Pie with moonshine! Did they use your recipe?
Don't remember reading about it, but will there be video feeds for the meetings this year?
Don't remember reading about it, but will there be video feeds for the meetings this year?
Good question Ken
Doesn't look like I can make it
Smitty, my tour's going to be first-class breweries, brewpubs, and beer bars. Taking the 10:12 train out of Mansfield. Be out about 4-5 hours. If we can, I'd like to arrange transportation to the MBTA Red Line, which will save us $17.50. Then it will be $11.00 for an all-day subway pass. Also, two good lunch stops along the way are planned.
If you or anyone else needs directions or info for anything else you might want to see, you can phone me at the hotel or on the road. I'll be at the hotel about 1:30 Pm today, and I'll have my cell-phone on me. The number's in the NEVC Guide book under Mass. Clubs, Tardy Truckers.
See Ya There!!
i wish i'd found out about this event earlier. welp, 2014 baby.
Astro said he was gonna try the video feed for the meetings if the wifi is good enough.
Ponypete your right Round the corner

Very cool,Hope so
I see 2ft of snow predicted for the area..good luck and safe travels....
2ft ? Glad I'm not there
I am here. Wondering about the snow too.
We'll need to channel the vannin gods to keep that crazy snow away from the CofC. No fun when you have a huge event like that snowed in.
I was going to drive up........
Looks like it will be plane, train ,and shuttle bus now.....
.....Wookee
Most people will beat the storm I think. It will be over before we leave too. It might suck on Friday to go on Sam Adams tour, but otherwise....party on Garth.
Vanners will Find a way to Amuse themselves, sure of that.
Ponypete your right Round the corner
unfortunately a repair to my radiator took a bit too much out of my savings. next year for sure though!
Next years meeting will be in a different location.......
I hope to get there mid day sometime tomorrow.
.........Wookee
Watch out for that storm!Hear its going to be a bad one!
Everybody stay safe and we'll see you in the spring when you can get out
The 2013 CofC meeting is being broadcast live as I write this by Astro. Link here:

THIS IS GREAT!! They closed the state and we have been on lockdown with some of the best people in the world--VANNERS!! And being in the hotel already is one of the safest places you can be--they have restaurant, bar, pool and a play area. We stock some extra supplies and by tomorrow it should all be a fond memory!
Miss you if you aren't here....hugg you if you are!!!
New Orleans...2/ 6-8 / 2014
Hope everyone made it home safely and for those flying home! Hope you are not stuck in an airport. Had a great time with everyone!
Thanks Eddie & Doc!
Had a Great Time!!!! Doc and the New England Van Embassy crew did an Outstanding job!!! The storm threw them some curves but they and the hotel handled everything so well that if you didn't look outside you never would have noticed the storm. Awesome hospitality and Vantastic Job!!! Thanks to everyone involved!!
It was great to see everyone and party with our Vanner Family!!
See ya somewhere this summer!! Come by and party with us at the Nats!!!!
Thank You New England Vanners for the wonderful time MrsHoney & I had at the Council of Councils. New England really knows how to throw a party. Docs box of toys really made things festive. And the Hospitality suite was a fantastic job done by Dysfunctional Vanners. It was nice to meet Smiley & Wokee face to face. thank you again kids.
I had a blast. Great job new england van embassy. Lookin forward to New Orleans. woo hoo.
Hope everybody made it home safe
New Orleans oh yeah, we're flying in for that one.
No naked snow devils down there though
Thoughts and observations...
What an awesome party put on by the guys and gals from New England! That was an old school good time...Hospitality snacks were awesome, the decor was great, and someone was always around to answer questions and help in any way.
The hotel was huge and very accomodating. They were way short staffed due to the storm, and what staff they had was pushed to the limit by the sheer numbers they were trying to serve. I heard housekeeping dropped the ball a bit, but we generate a lot of trash, and who changes their sheets and towels everyday at home anyway? The ice machines were a fail, but Mother Nature made it easy to keep your coolers cool...just take your trash can outside and get snow!
I have noticed over the years that the warm weather Councils with lots to do outside the hotel seem to have shorter meetings and less vanners in the hotel. Winter cities have longer meetings and more vanner bonding going on. I got there late, but still had time to hang out with old friends, and meet a bunch of folks from on here and FB. We all love a vacation and being tourists, but every once in a while, it's nice to have a cold weather council to just enjoy each others' company.
All that said, GREAT JOB NEVC and the Van Embassy, and very impressive handling of the storm by the states involved...
I have a bunch of pictures on my Facebook page...there are at least 6 albums.
HOME safe and not so sound!
Been taking it quite easy today.....
had a blast at Council!
LOVED the storm...made me feel right at home--I don't know how they ordered that one up, but it was fun. We laid in some extra supplies and we were all good. Never lost power at the hotel and it was fun to see snowmen built next to the pool!
Or snowdrifts in the room! Or snowbanks for coolers...we are Vanners..we adjust! I like the Vanner who told the manager...you just keep the power on and we will take care of ourselves! And we did....
Howard, maybe you were just on the wrong side of the hotel...we had none of those issues by our room...and lots of ice in the machine right out our door too! We got extra anything we needed from the hotel and the restaurant was packed with captive diners!
Anyway...great job by the NE Van Embassy...and the hotel...I am ready to go back to NE for another..not sure if they are tho...oh, I did want to mention, our host members that live nearby all brought their snowshovels in case we needed them....they even thought of that one little detail, that when all those Vanners went to get the vehicles dug out, made a world of difference in handling the situation. Gotta love it!
Also...Pooh, thanks for keeping me from drinking alone!!! Loved our time together!
This was Suzies greeting when she got home.
Planes Trains and Shuttle Buses......
Using public transportation made my trip to this event interesting to say the least.
If I do go to another van event and can't drive my self there.I will set it out.........
That being said.........
Once I got to the hotel. My trip was rewarded by Doc and his crew. While the rest of the state was in shut down mode.
The little slice of heaven we vanners made for our selves rocked on.I really can't think of a better group of people to be snowed in with.
We vanners have a way of making the best of any situation.
Our host this year where very accommodating and friendly.I did not notice any short comings from the hotel.
Johnny O and his wife took me out to a local steak house on Saturday night. It was neat to get to hang with them on a little more personal level.
I also want to thank Frank Costa for driving my self and other vanner to the air port so we could get home.
Astro did a good job covering this event for those who could not make it.
I did get to meet up with Mr Honey. He definably does not look like he types like and is a way cool person.
My new BVB
I do really need to thank all of our fellow vanners who voted to allow the Vintage Chevy Van Club to host a Council of Council meeting next year in New Orleans.
Looking forward to this vanning season.
........Wookee
Whoa, what a storm!! My people are still diggin' their way out....LOL I hope everybody got home safe, and y'all had a real good time! I haven't been able to get online until tonight, due to the fact that the Town Library computers have been down all week, and will still not be up until next week. {Piece of Crap townie computers....LOL}
I want to especially thank everybody that came down to the pool all weekend, and helped me celebrate the return of the B.A.R.
I've wanted to see some of your faces hanging out there for a lonnng time! {the mother's been in storage for over 12 years...wayyyy too long!}
I feel bad that the weather prevented us from taking some of you out on some long-planned trips to see some of our fun spots. Maybe if we ever have a Natz in New England again, we can remedy that problem.
So, here's to a great Vannin' season this year.....hope to see all of you again!!
T.I.E.T.I.S.
Boy, the weather outside is giving me flashbacks. Only this weekend I don't have a beautiful oasis from the cold snow and wind, filled with new and old friends. I have not stopped wishing I was still there since we left, what a great party. Many thanks to those involved in making this happen. Thanks to Dysfunctional Vanners for their hospitality. And thanks to the staff and management of the hotel for allowing such a special event to go so well.
Everyone should log onto the hotel site and give a feedback. It will go a long way in possibly having us back!
Unless there is a better page to post on.
Hey, anybody know of a link to pics posted from this year's C. of C? (2013) I can't find anything on this site, and I'm NOT on Facebook.
Sorry for the delay T. Hope this helps. Been trying to recover. Halfway there. lol
Did not edit this too much so if you see blurry pics, sorry about that.

So everybody was indoors and the vans were covered in snow?
Those were the best pic's yet....the raw pics are better than posed ones....40 yr old kids playing.....thats so cool, they come from all around the world and they all play like kids....VANNERS FOR CONGRESS
I like to take candid shots. Posed is fine but candid is best.
