Flyers are almost done, they will be at BVA xmas party or you can send me a PM and i will get them out to ya.I'll see what i can do Doc!Labor Day Nate next year i'll get them to ya Wookie.
Once I get mine from Jim I will scan it front and back and post it for all to see. I'll also include them in the calendar orders for vanners in the area. I first heard about Butler 30 years ago from a co-worker. He told me it was the most fun he had ever had at a van run. Three Rivers have held up this tradition very well.
Sorry Gary! It's actually always been this way for us. Luckily there is only two close (8 hour drives) for us. There used to be tree so we had to do one each year for 3 years then start over again.
Our web page is being fixed and should be back up in about 1 week, with the flyer and guestbook fixed. We have had problems with it for about a year and a half,so soon it will be up again. Thanks Doug.
Ooops ... I got the flyers from Carol in the mail today. I will try to alter them so as not to have to recycle. I did but the right date on the calendar though.
Love the theme--but, we used to play that game at Butler every year when the NFL season opened on the same weekend! Sunday was usually wandering campsites to see who was watching what--and sometimes you'd find a race n and have to beg to get the channel changed!! And one year I had to listen to the Bills game on the radio in the VAN!!! Good thing I had 'helpers!' hee hee
Hope we get to make it--another eVANt I miss going to on a regular basis!
Yes you did have the right date Doug,Carol must have been sniffing something ,hope you can get there this year Suzie,i think the theme will be a good one
Unfortunately I did not pay attention to the dates on the flyers. They went as is. It's a long 9 month wait until the event. Plenty of time to drill it into vanners' heads that it is still on Labor Day weekend just like it has always been going back to the 70's. So plenty of time to get your football gear ready for the big kickoff !
Are us Detroit Lions fans allowed? But let us wear our Red Wings jerseys instead! It is Hockeytown after all... I'm living in Erie,PA now, but I gotta stay with my teams from home...

Probably wear whatever you want, but with a Park full of Steeler home town fans, you may get Blitzed....in more ways than one
Of course the Three River crew would pick football the year their Steelers won the Super Bowl. Am I the only one who thinks the Steelers were damn lucky to win that game?
Thanks Dee Jaye for filling in for that no-show newkirk! hee hee
I don't think we will be able to make it AGAIN this year! I really miss all the good eVANts back that-a-way!
Dang! That's where Bad Girls gave Phil McCracken his name, helped me thru football games, ....... (sigh!)
Suzie
I was posting Van Slam & Last Chance & actually I got permission from Jim before I posted it for him. Now I need a OK from HVC to post Institution's!!!!
Well Howard said it butt I certainly was thinkin it, from what I have been reading on here Jim has a new name! He'll be a mess at the Nats so much to make up for!!! See ya soon bud!
I was just informed that Slim from the Butler county fairgrounds has passed. He was a great guy and loved the vanners. He will be missed! He was the old man in the golf cart that watched over us all.

Aww he will be missed. I think he really enjoyed us being there every year.
Sooooooo Sorry to hear about Slim! I always loved how he would ride around and wave at everyone and nod his head! I think he secretly wanted to come and play with us! It surely won't be the same without him touring around at Butler!
OK boys and girls, everything is ordered and a go,don't forget this is a football themed event.Everyone show you team colors and be ready to play some games and then some.Theme camp will be up in the air so show us what ya got.Wear your colors( team that is) and lets have some fun this year.Like we don't And of course look out for some wild Sh@t from Richie.Look us up at the Nats for a flyer. Jim.
LOL** Gills says that HE will be the cheerleader and that I should be the football player. HA! Guess we'll just have to wait and see what September brings us....:) OR Gills says we could bring Sarge and let him decide HA HA HA! Now there's a sight I can't get out of my head......:)

Shade of the Nerds !!!!
I think Gills would look good in drag, and then we will move to have his Canadian Citizenship revoked as a deviant
We need to go back . Lady Phoenix and I have not been since Survivor. We won everything that weekend (almost) but they tried to kill us. That was the most fun I ever had at a truck-in. My bladder still hurts !
well if everything works out i'll be driving my early to butler, if not then maybe i'll have to bring it on a trailer, but i'll be there. i have to raise a little hell, i'm begining to go through vannin withdraw.
We are coming to Butler this year for the first time. Heard it was an excellent evant!!! See you all there! But first it's off to Super Somer, Bad Girls, Butler then Keystone Madness
I would love to come, Havn'tbeen since '01 I still am recouperating. We won club participation at survivor and they tried to kill us. 560 and change mi. Butler is a Fun show and well done by TRV.

Right now I don't think I want to give the van that long of a leash It is still in the testing mode only 1000 miles and alot of exparimental issues there. GVOverdrive new engine and tranny anda complete new electrical system.... I just do not quite trust it yet. Some more sasoning would make me feel better
I just looked at the calender and we will be leaving on Sept 3rd for Colorado and thats the other direction from Butler. Sorry guys, the clean air and rockey mountains call.
... Its my Great Uncles 90th birthday on the Sunday of Butler..... I feel obligated to at least make an appearance; you only make it to 90 once and that’s if you make it that far. I just found out about it last night – That is going to put a monkey wrench in my Butler plans. Hmmm. Maybe I'll just come out for Friday night to Sunday early in the AM and haul ass back to Parma by 2 PM :-) I think I can do it! ! !
I’m in a similar pickle for bad girls… CRAP! It’s my little brother’s birthday that Sunday and he wants to go Kayaking. That one is too far to be able to make it there and back in time :-( bummer.
OK- i need help ! i haven't been to butler since "REMEMBER BUTLER 77' - THIRD TIMES THE CHARM and i can't remember how to get there,so i have to mapquest it,but i need a zip code for the fairgrounds !!
I wonder if I could get my Dad away from his, cant have no fun girlfriend for a weekend, lol. Last time I was at a truckin with him was Butler 1996 (? I think ?)
What year was the theme "van olympics"?? That was the year.
Boy I sure wish it took us only a couple of hours to get there! Coming home on Monday is always brutal each year. We have to travel into New York and cross the border into Canada around the Falls. Then make a pitstop in Kitchener for the 11 yr. old and head to the Detroit border for home. How many hours? I don't remember; brain cells are usually fried on Labor Day Monday thanks to Three Rivers
I will be there!!!! I will also have a case of the DropJaw Magazine that has the vanners coverage with me. The mags are 3.00 a piece. There is 150 mags in a case so should have plenty????

Mike, it will be good to see you again! Nate...football needs spectators, too...I'm with ya I am too old for all that fun, but might tilt a few myself!

Meeting this weekend and we are playing the Late night games tonight which is always fun.Richies trial runs are great and we get to see exactly what you will be into this year.Pre regs are up from last year so maybe we'll pass last years total lets hope!
sorry i cant make it gang ,its a border thing miss yr event alot man have fun and play safe
Yeah, I know how much the bride hates getting a free room at the Rainbow Bridge for 8 hours or so on the way to a run
Also, a fuel reminder for those West bound on 90 from Buffalo....Take x 58 North to Irving, turn right 1/2 mile just past the tolls and follow 1/2 mile to the Seneca Fuel Stops for cheaper gas......About 25-30 cents a gallon cheaper for Fuel than the ret of NY

Wow, ya'll really have to go out of your way, it should take you less then 5 hours
5 hours? Shoot I can do that standing on my head! Gills wants to know if the gate would let his Semi truck in? *LOL* Sure am lookin' forward to those late night games! Richie is the best host with the adult games ~ you guys are having some fun tonight!
Ha Ha you guys are funny, which reminds me to ask sister about the football gear and cheerleading outfit Hey RatvanMike, we'll take a couple of those Dropjaw mags! I'm sure I'll find you somewhere through someone....
Have a great time at Butler this year everyone, I f the Mountain gang skips a year we just might make it next year, we are just about healed up from Survivor, after you guys ...well we did have a great time. Mid-Ohio Vanels rocked that weekend ....

What happens in Butler stays in Butler, was the theme the year I went, had a BLAST, got married and divorced twice that weekend, but always got everything in the end the kids, the car, the house, etc. What fun! Enjoy everyone, Three Rivers puts on a GREAT event!
You got that right Last Butler Linda and I went to was Survivor and we (Mid-Ohio) won the weekend These guys put us through hell and back that weekend and I will NEVER forget that weekend. Had to stop every fifty miles on the way home and "P"... TRV ROCKS
For all of you that are going to Butler and would like to pre-reg for the 38th Nats in New York next July--there will be a booth on vendors row for you to visit and sign up at. While you are there you can also buy a raffle ticket and go home a BIG WEINER if ya get the right one! It is always the one right next to the one you bought--so buy lots!!
I just went outside to get something out of the van, its cold out there. The 1st thing i did was grab the heavy duty cord for my heater, that i forgot at FF. Hope i don't need it at Butler, but i'll have it. Its 62 deg, BRRRRRRRR, after near a 100 last week in KY, its FREEZIN.
Have a smooth event next weekend to you all at TRV. We will put you on our list for next year. I hope your numbers are up this year.We just have way too much fun with you guys. Lets hope the attendance keeps climbing for every event.
The 94 conversion..."Old Faithful". I plan on bringing Root Beer (aka Porter) to Keystone. I think I finally have the old girl ready for a trip however I didn't want to drive the 4-1/2 hours to Butler in it quite yet.
I plan on leaving for Butler very early Friday morning..perhaps around 3am. I'll get there early enough to crash in van for a few hours so I'll be fresh the whole day.
I don't know wether i'll have a 3 or 4 day run yet this week, could be there Friday, but more than likely Sat am. Do the Gates close, if so what time Friday nite ?
Looks like i MAY work Sat, but will be there Sat nite
Is someone gonna be there with Nats DVDs? I sent in a check a couple weeks back but I haven't recieved anything yet...
Boomer, click on our site www.performanceinc.org and click the member email tab on the left. You can email Rich directly and he's very prompt at answering email. Much more than messages on here. He'd be able to tell you for sure if anyone is taking some copies to Butler.
Pysco, gates usually close late sat and sun night, friday night there is usually someone there. If they are closed then toot the horn as we are parked at the front gate.I'm sure we will be there
Glad to be able to meet you Luke looking forward in seeing you.
I would like to get a group shot of everyone that buys a DJ Magazine so I can send it to the guys at DJ Magazine!!!!! This would show them that we are dedicated to there Magazine and may encourage them even more to do VAN related stuff for us!!!!!
We will be there sometime Friday. Right now we are in Sandusky and will be doing Cedar Point in the morning. Been a fun busy week so far and can only get better!!!!!
Three GREAT van runs this weekend, and I will sadly be at home! Doctor says, it's still not a good idea to travel far with the back issues. Hope everyone has a GREAT time and a SAFE trip. Please take lots of pictures for me. It's not the same as being there, but it helps me to at least see all my vanning family!
Barring any other injuries we will be at Keystone. Even if the Doc says, I still shouldn't do any bending, lifting and twisting by then, it's at least close enough of a drive to get there. I'm going back to the doctors on that Thursday morning so we'll be there after that.
I'm trying buddy! Hope so! I'm going to Keystone if I have to stop every 15 minutes to walk around and stretch my back out. I can't miss another run.
Your welcome to ride with me bro. You could lay on the bed in the back or get up and walk around in the back of the van!!! I make the run in a hour and a half flat!
One more day for me and were off to set up and drink Looking forward to seeing you there, weather is going to be perfect thru next Tuesday so its Party time

Whew! Holding my breath until I get in that gate! It's been a not-so-terrific summer for us and I am SO ready for an evant!! SO Superbeast and Smitty, I will do some x-tra toasts for you guys this weekend. Shoot, I'll do some toasts for EVERYBODY! Leaving Friday morning with fingers crossed. Just got my van out of the shop and hopefully the kinks are all ironed out now; it's been down since Vanfest. Take care of that back Superbeast and we'll see ya somewhere else down the road. I do know how you are feeling this summer, believe me; evant wise. Okay, gotta go wash and scrub the van now. And hey, we've got a Canadian couple coming for the first time. Hopefully the border will be good to them so they too can be hooked on this evant
i can't seem to catch a break this year, just got a call from my brother-in-law. my sister had to have a cat-scan today, they are now admitting her to the hospital, doctor said she has massive blood clots on her lungs. family comes first - no butler !
Everybody have a great time, the weather forecast looks great. Due to my health, we won't be making it and I'm only 20 miles away, Sucks getting old. On Sunday from 10am till 5pm, there is a very nice all Mopar Car Show held at the Alameda Park, which is just a couple traffic lights past the Wal-Mart on 356, only about 4 mile from the fairgrounds.
Was at the Mopar car show in Butler this afternoon and seen Don "radarlovevan" there. Great chatting with you. Nice looking van you got there. Hope someday when my health is better to drink a few cold ones with you. Don said there was around 200 vans there. Sounds like a good turnout.
Awesome eVANT, just over 200 vans I think, had a GREAT Time, met More COOL people.I have been on the road akmost a week, had to come home to visit the wife before leaving Tues am, for another work week. I Never say Good Bye, Because that might sound like we won't see ya again for a long time Hopefully thats NOT the Case, Till Next Time, KEEP ON Truckin.
So let me tell you about "Remember Butler". First I want to say, thanks TRV- great evant! We'll be back. My first evant ever. Asked on the forums here about a week ago about what I'd need to bring along. Got a few helpful responses, and then a fella named "Doc" PMs me and offers to send his checklist of what he brings, which I accept. There was a lot of alcohol on that list! LOL So my buddy and I get packed up Friday morn and head out. We make it to Butler with no problems, pay at the gate and find a good spot near the grandstands and restrooms (which came in very handy as my friend has a bladder size of a small peanut).Friday goes by, we're checking out all the vans, meeting new people, enjoying the band and just hanging out. Friday night was the first I had slept in the van and it was wonderful! It actually helped my bad back out! Bonus! So Sat. morning we headed out for TRV breakfast and went back to camp to hang out and chat with our neighbors from Ashtabula, Tom and his son. So as we are sitting there, this man approaches and asks what year and what engine my van has. I tell him 89 Dodge 318. He nods his head and wanders off. Five minutes later he returns and hands me an engine computer that he had rebuilt a few years ago. He had an 89 with a 318, but no longer has the van and doesn't need this anymore. This random stranger that never even introduced himself....walks up and hands me what is essentially a new computer for my van. Asks for no money-nothing. I am stunned and all I can mumble is "thank you" as the stranger turns his back to walk away and says something about 'a Ford van man trapped in a Chevy body". I didn't put 2 and 2 together at the time (still stunned at the generosity and kindness), but was told later that it was Doc from Ontario who was the mystery stranger. So Doc....you've helped this newbie vanner more than you will ever know with your kindness and generosity and I hope someday at another Evant ,to meet you again and buy you a cold one or 2 or 3!
They say vanners are the greatest people......Remember Butler? Hell, I'll NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!!!!!
Well another great Butler in the Butler in the books.....200 vans through the gate on Saturday and Sunday, a really big surprise....Virtual rolled in...he left the run in St Pie, Quebec and drove straight through to Butler....only 600 miles folks....:)

OH yeah, speaking of meeting new friends, I don't think I need to go into alot, but RatVanMike was a trip Friday night. Didn't really try what he was drinking from the jug but it sure made him happy. And Mike- my name's DeeJaye not Debbie

Now aren't you glad we talked you in to going See ya Friday
What a weekend it has been. I'll do a write up in the knews once I get all the pictures sorted out. It was kind of crazy doing the 2 runs so far apart but given the same circumstances I'd do it again. I knew exactly what I was in for and was not disappointed. I caught the tail end of a very memorable Butler. I heard all the stories of all the fun I missed on Friday and Saturday but got a good taste of it while I was there. The football theme was a big success as are all the themes that TRV come up with. I did get to talk face to face with a number of vanners who I will be collaborating with for 2010 events and did get a bunch of calendar orders thanks to Doc and some previous arrangements. It was good seeing Mike again, I was very happy that he sold out of the Dropjaw mags. On my way through the border the guard went through my van quickly and was quite impressed with the magazine Was happy to hear that there will be a Butler 2010 !
Big or small - Butler is always a good one! I'm glad the numbers were up & can't wait for next year And yes, too bad you missed Mike Friday night - he was a trip!!!!!
Great Job once again TRV! Always have a good time at Butler, nice to see Virtual unexpectidly to say the least. Thanks Matchstick for the test drive in that 5 speed..... See ya next year!!!!
Can't beat great times and great friends. For my birthday, Ken fixed my brakes, rotated my tires, and polished my rims...the man is nuts! But I love him! Thanks just doesn't cover it!
Thanks TRV for a great time one of the best.Ruthy and I had the time of are life . oh and thank Gills & Deb for the wonderfull that i'm still tryin to remember..... Oh yea Free Willy :)~
That was just for Black shortbox Chevies. I missed that but I have been sent the pictures. There were tons of earlies and mids in great shape of every make at Butler once again.
That 3rd gen body style spanned sooo many years it could almost be broken down to an Early 3rd gen.(flat steel grills)70 1/2 to 77 Late 3rd gen for the ones with the plastic grills 78 to 96.......
Awesome pics everyone, hope to get that video! The vans were great, especially the chevy lineup.I beleive that was the guy Doc.Hope we can outdo ourselves next year for everyone.Thank you all !
The first one in line belongs to Ken Hopcraft. (Don't tell his Fords) The short black lineup was his idea, wanting shots with radar and his buddy and the 3 vans. Suddenly there were 5, then Willie showed up and poof! a cool lineup! All credit to the early guys for the inspiration!
Willy! Where are ya Willy! HA HA ~ sure wish I could post my pics but computer not cooperating. Did we have a good time? Hell yeah! Loved that Butler song those Three River ladies put together, you gals rock! (Guys too) Even with an extra day I still didn't have enough time to do everything and see everybody. Guess I need to pace myself better I did get some good quality talk in with Doc, Matchstick, Bobert and a few others tho. AND my youngest sister Cindy made it out after taking a long break from Vanning ~ next year, same place Sistah! Thanks TRV for a very great time! Oh and if you ever need a nap during the day (I'm a night owl) don't EVER park next to Jim and Lucy! When you least expect it Mr. Newkirk..... BWWWWAAAAAHHHHHH!!
May have it in my hands on Saturday !!! Will let you know :)PM me your addy ....I can drive there , but know the details....and Millie is being blond again
