They promised me 6 sets for earlies to pickup and take to Carlisle with me. I ll get em in 2 weeks or so. Full production runs will immediately follow my releaseing them to the public so to speak. They so far have only made seals for the all of the doors, front, sides, rears. They also made the popout seals, both of them. The vent window seal is still proving difficult to master but they will continue to try. They currently dont want to make the windshield or fixed body window, cargo door window seals due to responses from the public stating these are still good quality seals from Carpenter's. They do however plan to continue making other seals like for the pedals, battery box lid, doghouse lid, fresh air vents under dash, side step, etc. They had plans of making the antenna seal but I told them it would be a waste of time since new ones come with it anyway,if you can even find a new one. After market ones work just fine anyway. Overall it sounds pretty good. The sets I take to Carlisle will be available for sale there to attendees first. After Carlisle I ll fill orders for anyone else. Additionally, I asked them to make seals for mid Econolines and the answer was YES, but not til after they finish with the early stuff. I would say thats a year out at this point. Guess I ll have to find a mid to haul up there too.

Who made the poor quality seals you speak of? The company Im dealing with has a good reputation and already makes a ton of stuff for other various make vehicles.

He says all 3 are done. He also says the front door seals(which I received prototypes of 8 months ago) have now been fitted with the wire pieces that help attach the seal to the door thru the little holes they pop into. I had the prototype door seals at Baker's last June and they seemed ok but without the wires it makes installation difficult. He says the cargo door seals will be done very soon also. The vent window seals are more complicated and they tried to do them but werent happy with the results so they had another company make them for them. Originally I was supposed to have a sample of it by December past, but that never happened. They had pricing issues and others with the other company which they say has been resolved now. New date for sample seal is by the end of March. This all sounds very promising but history with them tells me they haven't met a deadline yet. They say a week on me receiving the seals,I say at least a month but we will see. I hope for once Im wrong about this but it's now been almost 21 months since this venture started and they are at least a year past the expected production date of all the seals.

I will need at least 2 complete sets for all the pop-out windows (I have 2 Chateau Club Wagons needing all new seals) as well as other stuff for a third mid box van. I know there must be huge pent-up demand for mid window gaskets. I applaud your efforts to get these items produced. | | |
