Here is one of the little things that I notice.
This thread is about the position of the radio antenna on vans.
Lets do the ford van first.

1980's position:

late model position:

Not much change there, and I like the position of the antenna.

Here we go with 1970's Chevy:

Not bad...

Then in the 80's and early 90's, WTF? Why so far forward?

Then GM came to their senses with the Express Van:

I never liked the positioning on the Chevy van.
So that only leaves one other option....

Custom Van!

I agree. The Ford is ok but GM was definitely slacking for a while. I am a little torn on the delete or not issue. I enjoy a smoothed van but part of me thinks vans look cool with accesories hanging off; antennas, lights, spoilers, and whatever else you can stick, screw, or hang off it.

When Chris Farley talked about living in a van down by the river, did anybody else think that wasn't such a bad idea?

my dodge had a big stupid bracket hanging off the fender, i took it off and laid the antenna flat down in the cowl. Reception is just as good as it ever was and no visible antenna.

I'm going with a regular old chrome antenna.

My 72 Chevrolet never had a stock antenna, so the previous owner drilled a huge hole on the side of the fender and bolted on an aftermarket antenna. I welded up the hole and frenched a Caddy electric antenna into the top of the fender. Brad
