I'm not a current van owner... I've had at least 3RD-GEN Econolines in my lifetime...

My 1984 E-150 (SHORTY) w/300 I-6 and 3-SPD MANUAL on column (later moved to floor)



and this was my 1988 E-150 w/302 V-8 and 4-SPD AUTO



... and my favorite. My Dad's old 1979 E-150 (SHORTY) w/302 V-8 and 4-SPD MANUAL on floor... I need to look for more pictures of this one... I hope I can find it. That van is why I love 3rd generation Econolines so much.



I will probably be bitten by the van bug again. Any time I run into a 3rd-GEN 4-ON THE FLOOR I get weak in the knees and torment myself with the thought of purchasing it, but with a girlfriend, two dogs, a Mustang, a Grand Cherokee (that I'm constantly modifying) and a Delorean, cash can be tight at times.

Although if it's a 3rd-GEN SHORTY with a 4-SPD... I'd give it serious thought...

If I were to ever find the coveted 5-SPEED Econoline, I'd easily sell one of my vehicles to obtain it.

...or get rid of the girlfriend.
