My pic in photo bucket is sized 80x73 but I keep getting an improper format picture notice. It's a jpg file.... ???? Don't understand....is it because of HTML?....

It just worked for me. good luck. I just tried that, it worked the first time. After you save the resized photo, upload it to photobucket. Copy the code in the direct link under the share tab then paste it into the box in the avatar section in "my stuff" Thanks for the help Captain E!
