Vannin' Home Forums Dodge Troubleshooting (Dodge) Need A/C System Torque Specs Please....

Howdy everybody, I am getting myself all prepared for my A/C system rebuild I am going to be doing very soon. I took apart the A/C hoses for the most part and everything is contaminated by water because of the rust found inside of the lines so things like usual just got more involved then anticipated. Well make this short, I don't have a service manual and don't want to guess torque specs and risk stripping out an aluminum part such as a compressor. It's my 1995 Dodge B2500, has rear A/C not factory installed but it there isn't much a difference, I just need to know what the torque specs are for things like the discharge/suction line to h-valve (expansion valve) bolt torque, the expansion valve to evap coil bolt torque, the discharge/suction line to condenser bolt torque, the discharge and suction hose to compressor retainer bolt torque. I am going to invest in a service manual soon as I get the money, I find spending the money to actually make an attempt to fix something a little more of value then buying a service manual because every penny is needed at this point.

This is what I found in th 96 factory manual.

Compressor mounting bolts 30 ft lbs
Thermal limiter switch holding clamp & bolts 17 in lbs
Compressor shaft nut 10.5 ft lbs
Filter drier mounting bracket bolt 40 in lbs
refrigerant line nuts 200 in lbs
Expansion valve sealing cap 100 in lbs
center bolt 200 in lbs

Thanks Doc, life saver. My bolts must of been really seized, didn't feel like 100-200 inch-lbs coming off, felt more like 85 ft-lbs lol, but steel bolts in aluminum parts.
I decided to return my new rear expansion valve, the one I bought had a superheat of 8 degrees and the original was a 6.5, I decided to buy a 4 degree to make it a bit cooler. But anyways thanks for helping me.
