Something similar could be made up for front control arm bushings also. I always prefer winding things in and out (with a screw) like this versus pounding on them: Hosted on FotkiPitman arm puller, rough and tough, but it works. Made again from scrap box materials. The screw is 7/8" threaded rod with a captured nut in there. You can see the jaws have been repaired. Hosted on FotkiPump puller, never was a fan of the factory instructions.....knocking it back and forth with a slide hammer. It is simply a length of scrounged square tubing with some 3/8" threaded rod......a ten minute job. Note my "quickie" version of the Mopar transmission repair stand. It was made from 3/8 X 1" bar stock. Hosted on FotkiLast is a bushing puller, to remove the rear bushing while the transmission is still together, could be done +in vehicle+. The "hooks" on the end of those arms are a section cut off from a 1" pipe, then shaped a bit. When I took this picture the center part was no where to be found, it was like the center of that alternator pulley puller (this one is a purchased item) that is also pictured: Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiOne last little tidbit.........if you have a transmission that "pi$$es in the station" but a diaper on it like this. A simple sardine can. There is a tapped mounting boss there already to use. Hosted on FotkiI have kind of glossed over some of this stuff, so please ask if you need any further info. Lots more to follow as time permits.........

JUNK?? ............definately. Most of my projects are made from JUNK. I thought this was a DIY site pertaining to just that, guess I was wrong about that one. I can easily delete that post (I think), and move on......I didn't realize I was wasting my time here. What is the general consensus on that one.................?? BTW, I was deeply offended by that suggestion, never have I been told to F. off in such a way, either in person on a board such as this. PS: it says "Welcome carlotta578 - log out" Thank-you for that.......over and out.

I really don't think so............am fully aware of that phrase and think that everytime I scoop someone's discards from curbside. It is the rest of it and the haughty manner (tone) in which it is written. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Yada%20yada%20yada (Scroll down to N0.4) I am not Jewish, but have many friends that are. Have heard them use that phrase in many situations........fortunately none involving me. That was my immediate interpretation and WTF came to mind next. | | | Re: Shop Made Pullers, Etc. | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 3,497 "Canadian guy who lives way the heck out west" | "Canadian guy who lives way the heck out west" Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 3,497 | I learned something... I never made the connection to such a connotation of the 'yada' thing. I would not be insulted by the reference to your items either... the van community is not like other automotive areas where people can just buy and bolt on upgrades... vanners have to make it themselves 99% of the time. You will often hear how proud vanners are of their 'built, not bought' status.
Attempts at humour are often misinterpreted, which I think this is a classic case. Maples is a good guy, funny guy, helpful guy. This is a breakdown in communication.
I respect the ingenuity you showed in coming up with the devices you did! The thought that I had when I read your post was "I wish I had thought of that!"
Cheers.
